I can't believe that we finally found this guy. The most wanted man since 20 years ago, INCREDIBLE!!! He seems like a wonderful person, a really great dude that also loves his job and his character, as David Hayter. It breaks my heart that he didn't have so much oportunities after the main trilogy and that Sony didn't want him anymore, he deserved (and deserves) a lot of respect and to be involved in great projects also, can't believe how unfair could be this to anyone. His job was outstanding, his voice is still in our minds, and our hearts, and as a Syphon Filter fan, this is something that I always wanted. The fact that we can hear him again, and know him as he is, it's something that I still can't understand haha. I'm gonna put the link to this video in all my old videos.
He deserves the come back that we all want, and Sony needs to hear us, just one more time. Thanks for this interview guys, it's the best thing that happened in this 2021 so far lol, awesome job!.

Syphon filter needs to make a comeback! I miss this franchise so much
God, Syphon Filter is really a major part of my childhood. I remember watching my dad play it all the time and of course he was a wizard at playing that game 😂
I still play all the syphon Filter games, I am currently playing right now haha. I'm using LG v60 thinQ with the dual screen and the LG game pad and I'm using a PSP emulator app. It's just great. My favorite is Dark Mirror by far.
Definitely need to make a new SF with John, his voice makes Gabe who he is, just like Ironside with Sam Fisher
john chacon, along with david hayter, famous for the voice of solid snake, will forever be gabriel logan.

THEY KILLED SERIES TO NO REASON WE DIDNT GET 1 GAME ENTIRE DECADE OR MORE...BY THIS POINT I WILL BE GLAD FOR SOME MODDERS TO REMAKE ORIGINAL 3 GAMES FROM LATE 90'S EARLY 2000

1. The series didn't sell well.
2. They were burned up making more syphon filter.
3. The story was pretty much ended. Syphon filter was completely eliminated that last games' stories were nothing about syphon filter virus, and at the end of logan's shadow logan retired his job and were returning to his home. Even if logan didn't get killed there's no reason for him to work as agency agent anymore.
And the developer's spiritual successor, uncharted was a huge success and is now a killersoft of playstation, so there's no reason for the developers to make another syphon filter.
But I hope a reboot of this series would happen because I'm SF fan as well.
@@phj9894 syphon 1 was top 10 selling game when it came but after that ppl just started to buy sellouts not real game. I agree for re4, nfs most wanted and gta SA or VC ...but dumb ppl buying things like Mine Craft and Fortnite to play that bs. Syphon was unique story, at that time concept and potential for even better things. Of course there is other side of sword...

I really appreciate John coming out and doing this interview, and I also want to thank Leyo and SFC for orchestrating it.
For as long as I can remember, Gabe Logan's voice in the original trilogy has been my favorite performance in video games. There's buckos of great information and topics discussed here that I wasn't sure ever would be, and I would love to see more come of this if all parties involved are willing. It had become a bit of a running joke amongst me and my friends that John Chacon was never real, but here he is, undeniably!
He is very real and a cool guy too

After so many years he has been found and I'm glad his happy and well. What is also amazing is that after over 20 years he his still able to pull off his signature Gabe Logan voice with no troubles. Hurry up Sony and get John in a new Syphon Filter for PS5.

When I was a child and I didn't unddrstood a single word of english I always founded cautivating Gabe's voice and is awesome to hear that John Chacon is doing well.
I think the reason people are fanatical about the voice is that we all played these games at different points in our lives and those years stick with us. For me I was in my early teens and it left an imprint mentally, so I always have this association of Gabe, the music, the storyline, etc . . .with that point in my life.
Damn that’s awesome, glad you were able to get John Chacon for an interview. He was a fantastic choice as Gabe Logan for the original trilogy.
Syphon Filter 2 is my favorite. Gosh...so many games have made a comeback...if only this series can make a future appearance as well.

I just found this video while looking for Syphon Filter videos and reliving old nostalgia, the fact that you found John makes me immensely happy! By far the best Gabe of the series!
Lots of people looked up to Snake growing up. But Gabe was always my hero. Badass personified. And John's performance... nothing has ever come close to it. James Arnold Taylor just doesn't do the character justice. Some of my favorite of John's line deliveries are:
- (35:03) in this video :)
- "It's Ellis.... executed." (Gabe, SF1 intro.)
- (Lian:) Oh my God, Gabe! I thought you'd been killed!
(Gabe:) ...Not yet. (SF1, after subway is destroyed.)
- "No!! IDIOT!!!" (SF2, as a henchman throws a grenade while on a fuel container on a moving train.)
- "Teresa died the way she lived: fighting for what she believed in." (SF2/3, ending/opening.)
- "Are you crazy?? Get back here...!!" (SF2, Gabe panics as Chance walks to surrender himself in front of several APCs)
- "Anton Girduex! I hope Rhoemer's paying you enough to die for him!" (SF1, confronting Girdeux.)
- "He's finished, Lian. Get CBDC in here. Tell Benton I need an evac." (SF1, spoken as Gabe turn his back on and walks away from Girdeux, who is screaming and burning to death behind him.)
- "These men are wearing full armor! I can't hit 'em!" (SF2, agency bio-lab escape.)
- (Gabe:) "Thousands of people are dead, Phagan, because of you. 20 seconds." (Phagan:) "No, wait, you don't understand--" (Gabe, cutting him off:) "Time's up." (SF1, confronting the dude who helped make the virus!)
"Enough of this! Get that out of my face!" (SF2, as Gabe smacks a gun out of his face during a standoff.)
These are just a few. Syphon Filter 1 is one of my favorite games of all time and John's performance just made me fall in love with the character. So awesome to see this interview. Thanks to all involved!

My first SF was Omega Strain so I'm used to Taylor and I preferred him for a long time, but now I just can't unhear him doing a bad impression of Chacon doing a bad impression of Batman. Love you guys

Someone plz get in touch with Sony and put John in contact with the executives because we need him to come back to the series and bring it back to the new generation of gaming. I see a possible Syphon Filter remake or remaster in the making for the future soon. It's long overdue. Sony Bend what are you guys waiting for!!?? It's time to get to work!!
I've been waiting for this comeback for literal years.
Syphon Filter was my first ever action game for the PS1, and I played it for the first time almost 18 years ago (consider I'm 22).
The whole trilogy was waaaay ahead of its time, I still own my copies of the first two.
I left Playstation once I knew no new installments were coming out. I'd be paying a $1000 Collector's Edition if a new Syphon Filter came out, especially if John is involved.

Incredible. I looked into this a year or so ago and was disappointed that I couldn't find John, but another channel did an interview with the director, but this is great to actually hear him talk about his expieriences.

I feel a bit of joy hearing him again. This series is one of the biggest parts of my childhood that made it great. I'm kind of shocked his real voice is totally different. He sounds like Tom Arnold then goes growly Batman. There are so many gem game franchises from my childhood that have been abandoned and need to make a comeback. It's been so long that now it would feel fresh and actually bring something cool again to this stagnant gaming generation.

This is so wonderful. His voice is iconic and very unique as Gabe. I will never equat any other voice as Gabe, to me it was perfect. Glad he is alive and well, I like so many here looked for him online and could find nothing over the years.

awesome interview, loved these games as a kid. john seems like a cool and humble guy and it's really dope that he's a huge gamer. shame he never met any of his fellow VAs for the trilogy, that bummed me out a little. but i'm guessing that sort of thing wasn't uncommon in the pre-mocap/vo days. I wish him the best. also curious if he had that kid he was talking about at the end yet, even tho he's up there in years so (and with all due respect) that ship might've sailed but who knows...

I heard from an interview with John Garvin about the syphon filter TV series turned into fox's 24 with Keifer Sutherland.
Good stuff. Would be cool if it was possible to get interviews with the actors for Lian and Teresa.
