  • Hi & Welcome to Dans Diagnostics.
In todays video, we have a 2008 Ford Kuga that doesn't start. The PATs light is constantly flashing and we have a key not detected, engine malfunction and an AWD malfunction message on the cluster.
I show you my diagnostic process into diagnosing the problem.
We use a Snap On oscilloscope to check the signal from the key on the K-Line. We check module power using a test light to load test the feed and we get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks for posting.I'm having this issue with my Lincoln MKX and your video is the only one that shows how to repair the issue. All the other videos just show how to start the car by inserting the fob into the programming slot ...not much help when you're trying to repair the problem. Thanks again...now I just have to locate my antenna.

Brilliant video and thank you however, not sure how showing how to donthe module initiations would be against copyright, showing the drawings i get but not a video demo/tutorial on how to do it!

A well made video with a brilliant diagnostic route , I will have a look at my KVM module as I have had repeated water leak issues associated with screen top and scuttle . One question if my problem is the same and I repair , will I need PATS programming or will it be ok to just use the key ?

      Thanks for the comment.
If you require a new module you will need it programming
