What a man... The only problem for the Special Forces besides not being paid what they deserve is that the people who decide the missions are normally not Special Forces. Otherwise the Special Operators take care of everything from planning to executing and evaluating. But that is changing now. One big reason is that the operators don't accept clowns having that much influence over crucial wartime events - because this has led to both outright stupid missions being given and poor intelligence too. So the Special Forces are taking more and more control over procedures. Another huge change is of course that so called mercenaries have increased their numbers many times during this century. And these people, especially the ones at the top, are normally ex-Special Forces...

I have met several ex special forces men, and none of them have the bravado and self importance that Ant Middleton exudes. Generally they are very quiet unassuming individuals who carry their exploits deep within themselves with no need to big themselves up for anyone's adoration.
Hes definitely got a bit of an ego. Not necessarily a bad thing.
He is a TV star. A lot of his arrogance is for TV. I have seem him in normal interview. he is more humble
My mate recently came out of SBS after 10 years. He said he never came across this Ant fella before.

@@zed4225 Well Bear Grylls seems to be doing fine out of talking up his exploits in the SAS.
The guy has done what he has done. He is limited to what he can and cannot say. Asking him to discuss many of the questions and enquiries he gets given is both unfair and ridiculous. He's a professional and one that stands for our freedom in the UK. It's unfair to press him with questions like this. Some he can, some can't answer truthfully. He's a special service soldier.

ive had the trauma multiple times in civvy land, my military training has definitely helped me to cope,disabled, ill health problems and alone,totally broken ,again,all part of my training for what's to come upon planet earth very soon, too much to mention.😭

Ant is nothing like the swearing screaming special forces guy you see on SAS who dares wins. He's really quite softly spoken and polite...I like it 😘
The real training isn't like that at all, you never have a superior officer screaming at you to do it, you just have to get on with it yourself, he's not gonna be behind you on the battlefield

@@julieianson.com2722 have a look on here for Chris Ryan, he explains quite a bit about the training and selection process,,, but it stands to reason, they have to have the tenacity to do it themselves without encouragement, cos like I say, in a conflict situation, there won't be anyone there to give you that extra little push, that's one reason the sas are the top men,,,, I heard a story about them on joint training with American seals, the yanks put up a sign on there billet saying "Second To No one, our lads put up a sign that said" no one"
@@hellohandsome9875 I remember watching Chris Ryan in some Jungle with a celebrity, he setup his shelter away from this celebrity (can't remember his name) i thought it was really good because Chris Ryan taught you things. Thats why I loved watching SAS reality programs I learnt things, simple things like when your in a train station or even a supermarket take in your surroundings whats the fastest way out, because you just never want to be the one thats left standing. I know the Americans think they've got the toughest with the Navy Seals but I honestly don't think they could keep up with our boys.

They're like school boys,,,, quite a few years ago, on breakfast TV, two Americans were on saying they love their country, but the seals were actually the dregs, they are the unemployable, basically nowhere else to go,,, but if you delve a little into the sas, you'll find the majority have troubled backgrounds, broken homes etc,,, but one guy, (I'm not certain, but he might have been at the iranian embassy siege) left and became a barrister, they're clever guys, but I think they love the challenge, love to push themselves

What a joke this program is. If they truly wanted to show how "tough" SAS selection is, they should have interviewed the teenage girl that passed part of SAS selection on the "fan dance". No disrespect, but if a teenage girl can pass part of your selection, there is no reason to brag about how "tough" your selection is.
Ant Middleton is not likely to be very popular in the SAS.
1) He was never in the SAS.
2) He's written a book about his time in the "Special Forces", which SAS people do not like people getting famous about their time served.
3) He's an arrogant twat.
Also on a different note Bear Grylls was NEVER in the SAS, no matter what he says.
I met someone who was in the SAS and they confirmed this and how much he's hated for lying about it. The SAS person I met, was very calm and placid and was just like you or I. Didn't speak about much when I talked to him but said a few things about a couple of things.
Bear was in the sas reserves. Ant was in the sbs, only reason people think he's sas is because of his show which is called sas because it's a more famous name than the sbs

The SBS lol and ps there better trained than sas... Read about them. Yes the SAS came out the shadows because of the iranian embasy seige, but the sbs are a much much more secretive lot,they train and work together always have always will.. and yes they call the tv show SAS who dares wins but ant and foxy are SBS so is olllie.
What about Andy mcNab or Chris Ryan SAS both wrote books and Duncan Falconer SBS at 19 years old wrote a book all about his time in the SBS working With SAS along the way. That's just to name a few SF that have wrote books on there military career, ps the government scrutinise everything they write and tell them what they can and can't put in the book because of national security, all SF sign a non disclosure as of the late 70's...
