I love the feminist message in this song, but it makes me instantly feel a compulsion to protect her dispite her obvious power. Not sure if that feeling undermines that message or reenforces the need for that message.

It's supposed to be "little ol' me" as that's a reference to past western culture, actually pronouncing the d and saying "little ol *d* me" takes away the parodied/bitter meaning of the phrase and sounds like the singer is saying that she is old. While this could be used for some kind of scene in say, Arcane just as an example, what's been done to this song won't fit anywhere else really. The original had a sound to it that could have been used in just about anything ranging from quirky comedic drama to an action scene, but this remake/cover has put itself in a box.
