Best lesson I’ve seen and I’ve watched dozens
Thank you!
Of all the instructions I have seen this is the simplest. Thanks.
Nice throw there bud.💯 % fully open.
Been using this exact method for the past 40 years. Learned it from an old gullah man on the south carolina lowcountry marsh.
Wow..you make it look so easy. I have been throwing with a different way and keep throwing bananas. I will try. Thanks from a 63 y/o woman.
It took me a lot of practice with different techniques before I found this one that worked for me. I hope it works for you as well. 👍
Best demo on how to do this I've ever seen.
Thank you!
This is such a great video. I’m new to the cast net thing and I was blessed to see your method demonstrated by another guy in my very first video several days ago. Cred to you tho, your video came out 3 years ago, his just one year. They differ very slightly. To show the simplicity of the throw he tucks the off hand weights in his pocket! Doesn’t even use his off hand. And, he throws a 6’, 8’, and 10’ net.
I’m with you, my needs are met with a smaller net and the method you use to throw it has worked for me from the first throw.
Very, very well done and thanks again for sharing.
One of the easiest ways of small net casting
I got one yesterday, and this helps a lot, thanks
Heck ya tips plus you got some nice shad. I need all the help I can get on throwing. Thanks for posting
When I tried ur method my net landed like a folded taco 🌮. I’m sure it’s me. I modified a bit by gathering 4 leads in my throw arm & now I’m throwing pancakes 🥞!! I’m 5’7” with obviously shorter arms. Ur method lead me to find what works for me. No folds, no mystery grip, very simple.
Glad to hear you were able to find a method that works for you. Thank you for watching!
@@TheWeekendAngler my method may work better for throwing from kayak. Kinda crazy how unique to an individual the throw can be but simpler is better. Thanks a bunch!!!
My first meet I done it your way. But my new net I just can’t get it to work. Got both at Walmart. That may be my problem.
Thanks so much I have the same net and will try and post.
What if you are in knee high water. Is there a method for throwing it
I have been trying to learn my cast net. Thank you for those instructions. Hopefully I can get it down soon.
Thank you, this helped me out a lot because I just got mine.
Have an outstanding day!
I used to throw a cast net when i was 14-18. I recently picked one up but it ain’t like riding a bike. I have watched 10 vids on casting, your way worked for me, thank you for your video.
You're quite welcome
Same way I throw it but glad you confirmed I was doing it right.
I made my own way for years but net was cutting my thumb on the cast. Going to try your way today! Thanks buddy.
We’re trying to relocate our Catfish using a cast net, this helps so much!! ❤️
Thank you very much for your simple plane instructions
Great presentation. I will return after practicing

Bạn hướng dẫn rất chi tiết dễ thực hiện ,bắt được rất nhiều cá .

Awesome! Great job!

You're very welcome
I threw until my arm got tired today.
Couldn’t get the dang net to pancake.
I wish I seen this video eirlier this morning
in step 7 the horizontalnet at the top. are they flipped away from you? thank you
Hi looks easier than some , can you use that method on a 7 ft net , cheers
Going to depend on how tall you are.
How do you throw a 8 footer
Best way of throwing and to be honest, who needs more than 5 foot for net?.. really?. Seem people with 7 footers etc etc and they can't even throw it far with all thar stuff in their mouth etc. I throw my 4 for one far with your system. Ty sir
I just bought a cast net 6fter never used it but my buddy’s are telling me to use my mouth and all this I like this technique a lot better! Let me ask you is it going to be useful to throw from shore? Also your throwing hand (my right) releases then I left go with my left just a second later I keep getting half the net good half the net bad?
I tried the mouth technique. It's not really necessary on the smaller nets, but if you go to a large size net there's no avoiding it.
Yes, the throwing arm releases a split second before the support arm. It's all timing, but you'll get the hang of it.
I throw mine from shore a lot. Be prepared to hang it up from time to time, but that is going to happen whether you're in a boat or on the bank.
There are a ton of videos showing how to throw a cast net but I cant find any that show how they work ? What happens after the weights sink to the bottom and how does the net close and trap the fish ?
The weights pull the net down like a giant umbrella. The fish get caught in the umbrella. When you pull the rope to bring in the net, it gathers the lead line up towards the top of the net. The fish remain trapped in the side net pieces.
Once in the boat you hold the net by the plastic yoke and the fish fall out.
I throw alot of net tacos lol..
Mmmmmmm tacos 😂
I just got my first net at age 69...I have a 5-footer with 3/8 inch webbing. My net has been opening about half, not full circle, it's more elongated. Not sure when to release the fingers on my left hand, may be out of sync. Any suggestions...Hundreds of bait fish out there this morning I only could catch 2...!
I am having the same problem at 68. Any suggestions on how to improve the overall opening of the net? Should I be throwing it at a flat angle or more upwards?
I noticed you had an i-pilot on your boat. How do you hook up your transponder for your front unit?
Right now I'm using the us2 sonar built in to the terrova. 2d sonar only in the front.
Should talk about how much that arm throbs if bait is hard to catch lol after like the 15th toss.
That's the elephant in the room. 🐘
I've never cast a net before. But I've only seen people casting from their shoulders. Do you also cast from the shoulder? And what's the difference? Greetings from Micronesia.
I don't do the shoulder throw. This is the only method I use. I stick with the simplest method that works for me.
I got one at Walmart and can’t seem to get it right.
Where can I get a good one if this don’t work right. If it’s me messing.
I like the fitec ss100 series. They're 1lb of lead per radial foot. Makes them a little heavier so they sink faster, but also helps it spread out when throwing
Nice demonstration my arm and back definitely appreciate it 😂 thx for sharing maybe sometime I get back around Paducah we can hook up and catch some catfish or bass
Definitely! Give me a heads up next time you'll be around there and I'll bring the boat down. We'll venture out onto the Ohio River and drift up some cats or something.
What is your method for putting a shad on the hook?
Cut or live?
@@TheWeekendAngler Live
Live I will usually hook them behind the dorsal fin and below the spinal cord. If you're fishing current, pinning their mouth shut with the hook can help keep them alive longer.
Remember, though, from the moment a shad is born he is looking for a way to die.
@@TheWeekendAngler True, they do not live long
What size is that cast net?
It's more than likely a 5' but it could be a 6'. Those are the only two sizes I buy. I don't remember which it is, though
How do you find crappie without electronics?
It depends on the time of year. I usually only target them in the late fall or mid spring. Late fall I look for them near bridge pylons. Mid spring when the water starts to warm I look for them up shallow in their spawning areas. If there is wind, fish the shoreline the wind is blowing towards.
Cas net pliz. Plip card to delibhari rs
Now do this with a 12-14 footer.
You can't use this method on a larger cast net.
🏆🏆🇧🇷🇧🇷
Where's the best places to sink brush piles for crappie
In the water.. 😂 Seriously though, I'd look for a piece of structure that would naturally attract them such as a point and then add the brush piles near that point. It's easy to make a good spot better, but more difficult to make a bad spot good. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
7ft
Make sure have fast release on tie hand incase yall snag a gator.son't to lose hand .??!.
🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊
I have tried your method or throwing a cast net. Mine will only open half way. I can’t see you hands so I can’t see if you are doing some kind of twisting when the release the net.
It's less a twisting method then it is releasing one hand and then the other at the right time.
I no how to throw a cast net
Good
Languh to Hindi tell mi
That's a baby net where's the video with the adults net
Where's your video with a large net? Nonexistent?
The 5' radius (10ft diameter) net serves my needs. Absolutely no reason to go larger.
That won't get it with a real net do a video with a 10 footer
Did I say it was for a 10 foot net?
You do a video with a 10 footer, slick.
Stop
???
