- Here is a demo of this italian 6 voice analog polysynth.
Unit was upgraded with the great Tauntek firmware and can now be controlled remotely over midi by Control Change with any controller.
In the demo I basically flip through the unit presets and edit some of them on the fly just to show how easy it is now to program this otherwise austere synth.
I didn't demo the bi-timbral feature of the rack. You can have 2 different presets, lower and upper, either layered ("double") or split. Lower and Upper parts can have their own audio output.
Preset from 76 to 99 are allocated for the performance presets and need to be dialed in (you can't use the + and - value switch to select those like I did on the video). - Hudba
Looks cool, sounds great! I have the Crumar BIT 99 and the machine is absolutely amazing sounding, like my other italian synth, the Elka EK 22.
This is the gorgeous white version I'd love to own if I can find one I can afford and the space for it.
I saw this at the Frankfurt Musik Messe in the 80s. By itself. No Crumar reps, not part of any larger presentation! Al alone, and looking so cool. . . . I coveted this synth in my heart, but the dollar was in decline; I was poor-- And again this beautiful synth was a sort of standalone display-- Pre-internet, and only two music stores in all of Frankfurt! (One managed by an irritable Russian, the other a glorified organ shop less irritable but also less knowledgeable.)
In the 80's I saw one i(black version) in a London music tech shop called Chase run by a Seik gentleman. Does anyone remember that? I also saw 2 wings of the now incredibly rare & expensive ARP 2500 modular for £1000 each. I know in the 80's that was a fair bit but still very cheap compared to now.
love the sounds that puts out!
Ciao,ho un Crumar Bit One con modifica midi, potresti condividere il template per il BCR2000?
Grazie
The sound reminds me A LOT of my old Oberheim Matrix 6R.
Crumar and Siel are my two favourite synth companies of the 80s. But sadly very unreliable, my Opera 6 needed more service than I was able to play it. But they still were beautiful sounding instruments.
Yeah Italian instruments are up to their reputation :-)
Crumar was better quality than Siel. This rack is actually very well built. You can feel even the metal thickness of the case is more than the one Siel used.
I own a Opera 6. They are quite reliable if you watch out for battery leakage. But if it leaked than it’s very difficult to repair and stop it from spreading even after repair.
Elka made also great synths like the Synthex or Elka EK 22.
