Explain for me as a Canadian ice hockey guy why they don’t give the goalies sticks or gloves or blockers?
Not sure. When we were kids in the early 90's, we always had Finnish baseball glove, blocker made in school woodworks and a stick and later street hockey versions of those, due to heavy influence of hockey and NHL and we didn't like the floorball version. I think floorball just copied the rules of rinkball (version of ice bandy, but in hockey rink) which is an older sport than floorball and in all of these goalie does not have a stick or a blocker. It would be interesting to see comparison, but I think in floorball a glove, a stick and a blocker might be too heavy for save reactions and hinders your ability to do a quick accurate passes.
I absolutely hated it when at some point im my youth in Finland kids mostly quit playing this hockey kind of game and switced to floorball rules and gave me strange looks if I showed up with my street hockey goalie gear.
They would get in the way. We need to play on our knees to cover enough area and because of the relatively high friction of the floor. Some of the faster movements require the use of our hands, that would be impossible with a stick or blockers.
My favourite isn't even on this list.
I could only find bad quality of the penalty, but it is Daniel Dalbjer playing for Capeiro Täby FC against Storvreta. Maybe 15 years ago.

Some of them didn't move forward at one point, neither did de ball.
Nr2, the last move was backwards and she didn't move forwards, shouldnt count.

Too small. Way too small. They need to change the rule back to where the pkayer cant go backwards and it would atleast make the goelies job somewhat doable

Ye its stupidly hard for the goalie and stupidly easy for the player. They changed the rule so u can move that ball backwards which makes the goalies job so much harder and the players easier. The fact that u can make impossible to save shots with so minimal effort is just so stupid.
As a hockey player I don’t understand the asymmetry either. Like give the goalie some pads man.
@@theodorep9569 It would be like putting sumo wrestler in goal for hockey. They cover up most of the goal but still let in most shots. It would hinder their movement too much and overall mkae it much harder.
@@Ballingboii Pads aren't heavy enough to slow you down all that much compared to the surface area you gain to make saves. Source: am an ice hockey and floor hockey goalie. At least give them some gloves or something, yeesh

not sure of the rules for this, but about half of those went backwards at some point, so they shouldn't count

I’m an ice hockey goalie, but I also play floor hockey as well. Rules are the same as ice and goalie has same equipment as ice just lighter pads…I guess you can also call it street hockey but we play in a gymnasium(ball not puck)… if majority decides it…no icing and no offsides is fun. 🤙 this floor ball is odd.

They can, it's just that the bottom area is left so exposed
Most of them are bringing the ball backwards
That is allowed as long as the player is moving forwards
@@221floorball True, but 8 and 2 both stopped and brought the ball backwards, 2 multiple times, i remember the discussions on instagram after that, pretty much everyone agreed it shouln't have counted.
Most of them were illegal so, what's the point of having a ref in floorball.

Having been raised in Northern Michigan and growing up watching the Wings and Ferris State Bulldogs play ice hockey, this looks like something that should be played at family reunions. Ya know, something a 2 year old, and an 82 year old, can play together.
