This touches my heart and soul . I'm an recovered addict . been sober for almost 12 years . But now I've been watching my sister battle alcoholism and mental illness for many years . Ive done everything I can think of . Fought , loved , begged . Its been heart wrenching . watching her lose herself . Because this is not who she is .
She checked her self into a treatment facility yesterday and I'm so relieved ... but my heart still hurts because I know she has a long road ahead of her . Please send prayers

Saw Ray in Madison last year. People kept yelling and complaining he wasn't playing "Jolene." In the meantime he was playing this ......people need to listen more and talk less. Why do we expect our artists to never grow or change? Everything else does. Life is transitory.

On June 24th, 2020, I lost my beloved, darling friend Anna Marie. Only hours before she died, she spoke to me on the phone (we were literally on opposite sides of the world).

We loved each other very much, and even though I had left the United States and returned to India, she would still write and record songs and send them to me, and send me pictures of her canvas, because she was an exemplary artist and musician.
I will love my Anna forever, and I will never forget her. She was kind, compassionate, and caring, and an incredibly talented woman. But when she needed the world to be there for her, she felt alone. I wish I could have done more.

My mother passed in august and this was one of her favorite songs, we delt with so much abuse and listening to this song I can understand why she loved it so much... im so lost.. I felt like I lost a huge part of me when she passed away we delt with so much abuse together and she died 40 years too young... Took me back to when I ran away across the country because I didn't know who I was. And I was scared and alone and stopped at a town I didn't know looking for a place to stay and finding a lot of sketchy hotels but then coming across one that just felt right. A warm receptionist gave me my card and sent me to the second floor. I slept so well that night. The receptionist loving caring was a representation everything was going to be ok.
