I could have sworn I read something pre crash love, about him having throat issues ? I could be totally wrong , but some people aren't graced with perfect pipes all their lives unfortunately. I still enjoy seeing them live . Very few bands are as solid anymore .
From what I've read, I don't think the technique Davey used back then was very sustainable for his voice. It can be very damaging to sing in an unsafe way for long periods of time. I'm glad he's found a workaround for the old songs that are very high-stress for his matured voice.
Dude, I started listening to this great band in 93 and stopped in 2007. They are just lousy now. He doesn't have the energy or the voice anymore. Just sound horrible. His old self killed this song. This song sound butchered now. WTF!

I started listening and 19 99 1 a buddy of mine who knew I like some punk rock music suggested that I would love them and I instantly fell in love with them and the way he was a higher voice Danzig. Then he lost the power and intensity and ferocity in his vocals and started doing that screamo bullshit with decemberunderground and even though I like that album for the most part I couldn't stand the way he tried to sing with a deep voice after that. Has sounded like a tool bag since that time.. Haven't enjoyed anything they've done since 2006 except for that new song escape from Los Angeles. He is so bad live. So off Pitch

Shaelan Bowers Listen to XTRMST its def not gone. Not sure why he doesn't do it all the time. Probably just to preserve his voice for each date.
