I know some old cemeteries around the area that probably were more like family plots in the middle of fields and stuff but this one I have to check out thanks for making the video.
Nicely done, Cliff and John. We visited the canal park a few years ago and saw the tunnel from one side. The other side looks nice. We'll check it out when the virus is over. Light's Foot as well as the Memorial Park and Moravian Cemetery were interesting spots too. I appreciated the mention of the 93rd PA Infantry's camp in 1861. Thanks for sharing this and all of the interesting videos.
In Great Britain you can travel all over by the canals. In Scotland check out the Falkirk Wheel , giant wheel used to raise and lower canal boats to height of around 100 feet. You can also travel all over Europe by Boat using the canals

He needed a bath when we went home. Glad to see you do historic things in my hometown. Thanks John and Cliff. You can hear the train whistle out where we live. If you dont hear it you wonder whats going on. It lulls you to sleep in the summertime if you open your windows. I grew up in the northeast part of the city. We had a great time as kids. We had northeast park, the washy playground, and Henry Houck playground to go to. Lots of things to do. We spent most of our summer at northeast swim club. Now that is gone to. There is no other place id rather live. Except for Lewes De. Thats retirement time.
@@samanthab1923 I know we went there camping at Cape Henlopen state park since I can remember. My heart belongs there. So many good memories. My hubby loves the place to. I'd love to retire there.

Remember watching a UHF TV station out of Lebanon in the 60's that we picked up in Elizabethtown. - think it was channel 15. Watched a kid's show with 'Uncle Bob".
Usually on the muzzle will be engraved the year that cannon barrel was made, along what size projectile ot shot and where it was manufactured. Sometimes this info will be on the trunion pins or the breech. Replicas do not have these marks so it helps in telling the difference. By the way...throw some train footage in when you can...😁 Keep up the great work!!!

Imagine how much history that log cabin has seen through the years, and how many people that have come and gone, it's in really good shape too considering it's great age which shows it's being lovingly maintained. So cool 😎 never saw a canal with a tunnel. Years ago we went on the Mule Barge rides in New Hope on the Delaware canal. Unfortunately because of the 3 back to back floods in 2004-06. Walls caved in etc. Trying to bring it back. I think you can still ride one up in Easton on the Lehigh canal.

I loved seeing the Union Canal remnants. Canals fascinate me. I love watching the English canal vlogs. It is a shame we destroyed our American canals... Also great tour of Lebanon, so much history to see. I could spend a week just going to all the sights. The Moravian cemetery is amazing. Living in Arkansas we don’t get birth and death dates that old!

Lights fort on wikpedia say there used to be 2 tunnels during French and Indian war. Union canal cut one off as nd the other end under courthouse.. a school basement still h as s part of these tunnel system.

Very cool to see local history. Drove on some of those streets earlier today. I had no idea the cemetery was by Home Depot. I have family ties to this area going back to the revolutionary era or earlier on both sides of my family. A few months ago my grandmother showed me and my brother a box of old documents including deeds, letters of indenture, and an 1822 Lebanon militia roster, all dating to the early 1800s. Apparently they where found in the old Avon general store that my great grandfather ran for years and were very nearly thrown in the fire (thankfully they didn’t).

I used to work at Cleaver Brooks in Lebanon. CB owned the old round house where they repaired trains....

Your very close to Harper's Tavern, where they marched during the Civil war. Old Jonestown RD. There is very old log home's in Jonestown.

Canals were our means of transporting goods before the advent of the railroad.
