    I love my tools and I spend a great deal of my life in my shop. So when it comes to tool organization, I like to put a little extra time into building racks and holders that are custom-designed for functionality and beauty. To some it may seem silly to use a wood like Walnut for these things but consider that I have a lot of small walnut scraps that serve no other purpose. So why not use them to organize and beautify my shop space. Feel free to use any wood species you have access to.
    Between the video and the images below you should be able to make custom holders and racks for your tools. The reason I didn't include official plans for these is because unless you have my exact tool collection, the numbers won't mean much. So get your measurements from the tools themselves.
    The glue I used for all of these racks is Titebond Quick & Thick. amzn.to/2VlOnYB The thick consistency and fast dry time makes is perfect for small projects like these.

    Dude props for just rocking the fact that it's overkill lol. I mean... In a content Creator's shop, almost everything is overkill from what's absolutely necessary for function... Because it's necessary for appeal which strangely enough is profitable.... anyways! ... Great video. And I really appreciate the transparency about overkill. I think more starting woodworking need to know the possible simplicity they can go with to get great functional results

    • @woodwhisperer
      @woodwhisperer  Před 4 lety +2

      Thanks man. Though I wouldn't say my overkill shop is that way for the sake of appeal. I'd say it turns off as many people as it attracts. I do it because that's what I want to do. When I stopped building furniture for clients, I went back to more of a hobbyist mentality and my shop pretty much reflects that. But it's more about my personal desires than appeal. If I were going for mass appeal, I'd probably downgrade everything in my shop.

    • @MaydaysCustomWoodworks
      @MaydaysCustomWoodworks Před 4 lety +3

      @@woodwhisperer oh. Well that makes sense to me. And that's totally fair. Well again, props for just rocking it lol. I know most people would do the same if it were viable for their situations. I'm personally very "function" motivated but that's because my business is making wood products. If I were retired or I did this as a hobby I would likely take the appeal up several notches as well

    • @woodwhisperer
      @woodwhisperer  Před 4 lety +1

      I'd start with a push block and a good push stick. It's important to understand what's going on at the table saw and what makes a push block different than a GRR-Ripper. GRR-Rippers aren't cheap so you should know what it does and how it works to decide for yourself if the value proposition is there. I love the GRR-Ripper but I don't use it that often....only on cuts that would be questionable any other way.
