Absolutely nailed it. I am as much of a fan of 2016 Conor as anybody, but I'm never a fan of people who can't reason objectively about a situation and call things for what they are. You parsed the situation perfectly, defining where the differences lie and identifying where people typically get hung up, while taking the appropriate people to task for their inability to do the same. Bravo!

My main issue I have with it all is that while injuries happen there is a lot of evidence out there of him not taking his rest and recovery between training sessions seriously in the build up to this fight. While the injury might have nothing to do with his partying it's unlikely to have helped. He may have been able to get away with it in his early 20's but it is really important in your 30's.
