I would have hoped for him to sound more militaristic and dramatic and a little less lyrical in the high register. I preffer to hear Terfel and Fischer Dieskau for these reasons. Great interpretation nonetheless.

Sounds like G minor to me, not positive.
I have the original sheet here, it says G minor.
It's G minor, but about 2:05 it turns into G major.
