Currently have the Pad 5 and thinking of switching to the MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte. Do you think it's worth the switch.. The pad 5 isn't that good for drawing and comic reading, but I'm worried if the papermaatte doesn't match up to the sharp and brightness.. thaaks for the review
I think it would be worth the switch because of the anti-glare feature of Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMatte.
@@markmanalo1849 Thanks. I got my PaperMatte 2 days a go. I'm really liking the PaperMatte so far compared to my Pad 5. The pen is much better, the sound is louding and i really notice the extra .5 size in the display. it just seems a lot better all round. I will keep my Xiaomi pad 5 for the minute as I can just use it for watching netflixs on the go. The PaperMatte will be used for productivity :)
When using call feature
Does it use the IA to keep face in the center ( tracking ) ??

How different is it from a paperlike screen protector?
This seems to diffuse light differently. There's less glare on this one. Also, you won't have another layer of plastic or glass in between the screen and the pencil when writing which feels more accurate. - Andre

Just bought this in a deal and accidentally chosen the paper version. I was going to get customer service to swap me for standard but I realised I pretty much always have night mode on my devices, my eyes are used to it and so I think it's a great idea. Although I will be putting a clear protector on mine as I don't draw.. Mainly use for lite video cutting, media consumption and lite photo editing. My macs do more. Of the heavier stuff I'm involved with but this will definitely come in handy for me.
Very excited to try my first Huawei device I love how you can buy parts for them and they are somewhat repriable for batteries, ports etc. I do think reviewers should mention repairability more as it's a huge issue with tech these days.

hi! I'm not using a screen protector as per advised ng mga napapanood ko here sa YT, plus hindi ako masyadong nagpe-pen pero so far okay naman siya even when I'm using it
Huawei was able to fix the issue naman for the keyboard kaso ang hassle talaga nung sa fb and messenger especially when u are using the keyboard

Hi Sir, just got this tablet. And tried to log in my Google account using Gbox and it stated there that I logged in using OPPO A93 5G, which I don't have. Any thoughts about it? Thank you, Sir.
Hi! From how I understand it, GBox creates a fake identity for Google to allow the MatePad access. Ours is showing a Redmi device. It really isn't an issue for us as long as we get Google access. 🙂 Hope this helps! - Andre
Probably po dun sa GBox at normal lang po sya and it doesn't affect naman as long as we get po ng Google access.

Hello! To compare, there's the MatePad 11.5 (non-papermatte) - this one is almost exactly like the 11.5 PaperMatte we've reviewed here but costs less. If you can get it at a good price with all the accessories and you're fine with the glossy screen, this will save you some cash.
There's also the smaller MatePad 11 PaperMatte - this one is slightly more expensive due to a small increase in specs but has a smaller overall size.
As for my personal choice; I like the PaperMatte screen because I use this for typing so I would go for the 11.5 PaperMatte Edition. :) Good luck!! 🥂 - Andre

I have the Huawei Matepad 11.. I chose it because un pen may lagayan na siya sa taas ng tablet so iwas lost for the pen and when you charge it sabay na siya no need to use extra cables.

Alam ko iba ang freebies ng online store and physical store. Try mo na lang sila i contact para sure.

You Still can't use google apps on it, so you're still stuck with hoping the app is on their own store or going to less reputable sites to get dodgy versions. I had a Huawei tablet for drawing, and the hardware was great the biggest con was not being able to unlock pro level drawing apps that require gapps/google play
Go to huawei app gallery and install gbox. You can install and use google apps again. Let me know if this helps
That is true. Some Google apps do work seamlessly through GBox but as for drawing apps, the ones I've tried to work natively are Sketchbook and HiPaint. So if you're totally reliant on a specific app that isn't natively supported, then it's probably best not to go with this. Cheers 🍻 - Andre
Yes. Gbox has greatly improved. Everything feels like they're natively running now. 🙌
@@TechLokal i did try it out, but it still cant take payments via google play, so apps such as infinite painter can't be unlocked. But for someone who isn't into art then thats not an issue

I ask the customer service sabi wag daw since yung warranty hindi cover if may damage na mangyayari sa screen once you put screen protector. Advice ko lang if hindi ka maglalagay is ingatan at make sure durable yung case

🙂 Performance wise, the 9th gen iPad will run circles around the MatePad Papermatte. The MatePad on the otherhand, will already come with all the accessories you need like the M-Pen and keyboard. Do also consider that the Matepad has a matte display which you may or may not like. We would suggest you check both in stores and try out the experience. :) Also, Huawei is releasing a new Matepad Papermatte this coming June 28. Good luck! 🍻 - Andre
Thanks for this vid! I have mine now but the problem I'm experiencing so far is about the keyboard because two of the keys are giving me different characters and I still can't figure out how not to have an uppercase letter every beginning of the typings. I'll try to call their customer support tom because they do only cater calls during weekdays. Also waiting to hear from them about the freebies VIU and WPS

@@julsdrake7 Yup, they made me sent a video for reference and still haven't heard anything until now
UPDATE: I was able to contact Huawei's cx care I think (?) they assisted me in getting the VIU account but the other concern hasn't been addressed yet after multiple callbacks. It's frustrating that the orientation is not good as well to some applications like messenger and facebook, also when I tried to check lyrics on spotify, the orientation just keeps on changing to portrait even I had it on landscape because I had the keyboards on.
Keyboard keys are still messed up even they asked me to install Gboard. WPS office app still cannot be downloaded.
Hai po, what's the main difference po with huawei papermatte 11.5 to the the other papermatte 11. I feel bad. I just got the 11 inch and here comes 11.5 with much lesser price and bigger storage.

Huawei advises against it. That would defeat the purpose of the paper texture when used with the pencil. :)
For added protection, it depends on you. But the paper texture will not work when used with the pencil once you insert a screen protector.
Personally what would you prefer po? Xiaomi Pad 6 or Papermatte 11.5?
Hello! That would depend what I would be using it for.
If I needed more power for video editing and games, the Pad 6 would be best. I would choose the PaperMatte 11.5 if I would be using it for work and drawings for its matte screen and the better pencil. 🙂
I have a Pad 5 and the PaperMatte 11.5 and the MatePad is the one used more often.

The case is magnetic but it doesn't charge the pencil unlike the other versions of the MatePad 🙂

Yan din yung concern ko but I asked Huawei and they don't recommend using a screen protector on this as it would defeat the purpose of the matte display.
So far wala pa namang scratches now. Will observe and update this post if it scratches. :) - Andre
