Thank God I found your channel in time! I was on my way towards failure. I opened my store on February 20, 2024. From that date until March 4th I posted 2-3 items per day , 2-3 days or 4 days apart. Starting March 7th until today I post one per day as you recommended. It is a bit overwhelming, I have to admit. I sell digital prints and developing the design takes so long. I would feel more comfortable listing every other day. So my question is: what is the minimum speed of listing for a healthy growth?
I don't know if you have ever covered it but a video about NOT using trademarked and copyright protected designs would be useful. So many are either ignorant (or dont care) about intellectual property theft. Its rampant and people will end up losing their stores because of it.

TBH, I don't think this store should even be allowed to exist on Etsy. There is nothing handmade about these items. The owner doesn't make the caps and all the printing on the caps is generic, nothing artistic at all. The smiley face one says it all, the owner didn't make the cap or design the smiley face and in fact is illegal. Print on demand is out of control on Etsy.
I agree it is out of control, but Etsy isn't showing any signs of caring because it racks up all the seller fees. Quality control is an issue, because it is non existent.
Disagree...as I tried to open a store and it was closed 2 days later then Etsy closed my other store after listing over 100 items in 4 months they shut that down with no reasons why I think they are shutting down loads more so just be careful out there if you have no sales over a couple of months they are most likely to shut you down now especially if you have pod or a bit of ai on them..
I agree that the trademark violating item(s) should be removed ASAP. Now, whether or not the products are handmade is irrelevant. Etsy makes allowances for POD. Etsy makes the rules, it's their marketplace, and for now the shop is allowed to exist. Let's be mindful of the impact our comments can have on someone else. I am sure the owner did not ask Nik to review their store for these kinds of condemnations. Disclaimer: I do not know the owner of the store, and I have no affiliation with them.
As long as no one is stealing ideas...any store should be allowed. Who are you to say otherwise? It still comes down to quality control. POD is what it is.... things evolve. Cry about it...or adapt.
I made a new etsy store and I have sold 49 items in 4 months costing between £30 - £50, I thought that was bad but from i have read people wait months for a first sale :/

I know you said you're working on things so if I could chime in, I think you need better thumbnail photos. Some of the jewellery can be shown worn. First, i really enjoy your videos! I can understand your ideas and strategies, but although I've tried many different strategies over the years, including putting something in the store every day or doing something in the store every day, I've never managed to have a successful store. I have very few sales and a few ratings since 2009, when I started with Etsy. At a certain point I lost interest and simply stopped posting products and had the store on hold for several years. When I decided to just close it down, I was persuaded by 3 friends who have stores on Etsy and who get sales from there to give it a chance again. Even the one with the most successful store said that it doesn't matter if you put something up every day, but that you need good photos, strategic titles, good descriptions and good tags. Needless to say, I'm still getting the same result... I'm hardly making any sales. I don't know what I'm doing wrong: Am i following her advice completely wrong? I don't have enough photos? Don't I have enough interesting products? Am I not following a strategy long enough to get results? Are my products too expensive or too cheap? Is etsy simply not for me? Lots of questions I don't know the answer to! And I might even be asking the wrong questions, I imagine!

How long does it take a new listing to show up in Etsy search? I have 10 listings 968 sales. I'm adding 1 listing per day but only my best seller shows up in search.
Listings are indexed in a few minutes and are eligible to be found in search. Whether they are seen or not primarily depends on sales at the listing and store level.
Ooooh, is this a shop for tarot readings? I tried my hand at that a few years ago, the things strangers trust readers with! If mine can't be picked, I definitely hope he does yours. It'd probably lend itself to some super helpful insight, especially for those of us who do MTO things, because it's not yet another POD or POD adjacent shop.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. Etsy is a global market place so you are limiting yourself by not shipping to the US or UK. What's the reason to not ship outside the EU? Most Etsy buyers are in the US.
Rockabyerebel I've started a few shops, because i couldnt decide on a niche. This one got left to the dust. Then a design i made for my son kind of started selling, and i turned my focus here again. So all but 2 of sales have been since mid-february. It's a VERY niche area that's selling. Im not sure if i should expand to more hyper-specific niches, or focus on more products in the one hyper specific niche.

If you go to the item from within your store but click on the store front item you will get a link with www.etsy.com/listing/012345/descriptionof item and load of numbers/letters. Wipe out everything other than www.etsy.com/listing/012345 ( the numbers are the individual listing ID for that particular item). Copy this link in a new tab and you will get a clean link.

Hi Lisa, thanks for being here and and for using my tips, I appreciate it! OK, do not use ads until you are making regular organic sales, and by that I mean at least a sale a day. Otherwise you will likely lose money on ads.
Does anyone know how to do an abandoned carts offer without the current sale of your store being included? I currently have 3 abandoned carts that I want to offer a 15% discount on for those specific people, but I also have a 10% off sale on my whole shop which I do about once a week. The issue is I can't do %10 off plus another %15 off. I'm not gonna make a profit so that's just not gonna work. How do I make it so they can only do 1 or the other because it can't be both or I'll literally make no money. Hopefully this makes sense.
Shoppers can only use one offer. Say you are running 25% offer on all items in your store and you also have 10% offers on abandon cart, welcome, etc, the 25% takes precedence. Customers can’t combine offers.

The discounts don't stack. Only the "better" discount applies. So if you have a 10% off sale, and someone has a 15% off discount code, only the 15% off will apply.
Be careful with the legislation around sales. Items have to be available at full price for a certain amount of time (28 days in UK I believe) before you can discount them.

Look through his previous videos I'm sure he has one about ads. As far as I remember he doesn't recommend ads for new stores.

Does anyone know how to do an abandoned carts offer without the current sale of your store being included? I currently have 3 abandoned carts that I want to offer a 15% discount on for those specific people, but I also have a 10% off sale on my whole shop which I do about once a week. The issue is I can't do %10 off plus another %15 off. I'm not gonna make a profit so that's just not gonna work. How do I make it so they can only do 1 or the other because it can't be both or I'll literally make no money. Hopefully this makes sense.
Is the 15% set by Etsy? Could you make it 5%?
Shoppers can only use one offer.
Say you are running 25% offer on all items in your store and you also have 10% offers on abandon cart, welcome, etc, the 25% takes precedence.
Customers can’t combine offers.
@@CarolCreates So if my entire shop already has a 10% discount & I offer 15% off for abandon cart items, only the 15% off would work if they used it? That's what I'm trying to do. Thanks!
The discounts don't stack. Only the "better" discount applies. So if you have a 10% off sale, and someone has a 15% off discount code, only the 15% off will apply.
Be careful with the legislation around sales. Items have to be available at full price for a certain amount of time (28 days in UK I believe) before you can discount them.
