    My Hantop is coming in today and I am so excited to use it. Hand milking has been so difficult with this cow. Thank you for this demonstration and all the tips. Much appreciated

    Thank you for this great video! My hands are getting arthritis & I’ve fought off using a machine as long as I could. Just like you said, I heard about how horrible the machines are to clean etc, but in the end I had to buy one. Today will be the first day I will use it & now I am excited about how simple it is to use & clean!

    Thank you for all this info. I also have a half gallon bucket from this exact model that will not hold my cows milk without emptying lots of times. I ordered just a bucket that’s 20 liters. My husband said he could drill holes to bolt the 2 fitting on it and it’s a cheaper fix! I’m hopeful it will work and relieve me a bit from hand milking my high producer! Milk 2 teats while it pumps the others!

    I guess I know now what was the problem with my pump when I first used it today - I didn't use the clips to create suction. Thank you for your video. Will try to use the pump again, correctly this time.

    You did a really nice job on this video. I've been hand milking and boy are my hands tired and sore. I just got my milker yesterday and I'm looking forward to using it. Thank you!!

    I don’t have this particular machine. One suggestion I have is rinse with cold wAter first to get any milk out before the vinegar step. Cold water flushes the lines of milk. According to the instructions on my machine, hot water actually “sets” the milk allowing for buildup over time inside the CB lines. U think that call this millstone. Awesome video. Thanks!!

      Thanks for the info. I’ve heard people wash out milk containers in different ways, saying not to use hot water. I’ve just gone by what the instructions for this machine says to do. Strange that they don’t tell you about washing with cold water first. 🤔.

    Does the motor plug in or is it battery operated? Looking at possibly buying this model for our milk cow.

      When is it spitting out milk - while cleaning or while milking? Have you checked to make sure the tubes are attached correctly- Like in the video?

    Do you take the gasket out of the lid for cleaning also?

    • @hillsideharvesthomestead7485
      @hillsideharvesthomestead7485  Před 2 lety

      I will simply run the brush that is supplied with the machine through the milk intake pipe and through the air pipe on the lid, then take off the plastic milk stopper on the underside of the lid and clean that. Every couple of days I’ll take the seal off the inside of the lid and clean that.

      @hillsideharvesthomestead7485  Před rokem

      The pump held up for a year. Pretty sure it would have held up a lot longer had I not accidentally run water and milk through it too many times 🤦‍♀️. We would just need to replace the motor.

      We bought another cow and so wanted a bigger machine. So we just have our hantop as a backup. However we have had a lot of issues with our “nicer” ( more expensive) machine we have had to work through. I prefer the hantop actually .

  • @haimevaldez
    @haimevaldez Před měsícem

    Can anybody that has used it more than 4 months on a regular basis provide feedback to me ? Is it worth for about 4 cows use it daily?

    • @hillsideharvesthomestead7485
      @hillsideharvesthomestead7485  Před měsícem

      For 4 cows it will work just fine. It will be slower than if you get a machine that has 4 teat cups though. I bought a bigger machine when i bought a second cow. That machine worked much faster but it was harder to clean and didn’t like our cold winter weather. So it depends on you - if you want the job done really quick - get a bigger, more expensive machine with 4 teat cups. If your ok with it taking a little longer, the Hantop will work just fine. Later i sold one of my cows and ive gone back to using the Hantop, even though i have a bigger, more expensive machine now, i still prefer the Hantop just for ease of cleaning and i dont have issues with it during the winter.
