    I own a Super Swede, made in China, and can personally vouch for how well they stay in tune. Something about how their truss rods are structured that keeps the neck from moving back and forth. I can pick up my guitar after a week of not playing it and all the strings are in tune. Oh, and they sound great, especially the coil-tapping!

    Everytime someone demos a guitar they always start playing solos and shredding. Please play riffs so you can kind of hear the tone. Playing ear bleeding solos doesn't say much about the guitar. It says you can play solos. This guy did a good job

    Hagstrom now made in China?

    I like a bolt on neck because it can be less troublesome to make adjustments if needed. Also, several years ago Hagstrom profiled a headstock that had all the tuners on one side which is also a preferred set-up and ought to remain in the lineup. And, naturally include these designs in a left hand guitar model and I would take greater interest in the Hagstrom brand.

    Too bad the fingerboards of these guitars are made of a synthetic material that is toxic to the guitarbuilder (like asbestos!) that refrets this guitars. Why can't Hagstrom use just something like baked maple for the fingerboards ?

      @craigsmith7932 Před 7 lety +1

      What are you talking about???
      It's not toxic, and how the heck can you even think up a statement like this?
      Do you think that it would be made available to the market if it was dangerous for people to use?
      Think before you make such comments, man!

    • @j.schaefer5622
      @j.schaefer5622 Před 7 lety

      It is dangerous for the guy who needs to grind the fretboard, and to
      work on the frets, not for the people who play it. It is the same with
      high pressure laminates. My fellow guitar builder collegue warned me
      about it.

      In all honesty, its not good to breath in any type of wood dust. This is why masks are commonly used in woodworking. There are no health risks working on the frets. Sorry, but your statement is incorrect.
      Take it from someone that has been working very closely with this specific material for over 10 years now.

    Les Paul copy! Every one makes them. The last I heard they made them in China. Not close to the old Hagys

      Several years back, I acquired a '65 H-II, and recently discovered that Hagstrom has released that series, claiming vintage specs (not that goofy F-200 they sold for awhile). Some part of me wants to get one just to see how close they really are, and to find out how close they really aren't.

      25 5 scale, thin neck with different than lp profile, synthetic fretboard that is a lot better feeling than gibsons. Different look here and there (bridge, headstock etc.) Proprietary pickups rather than the norm in the industry.
      It's a take on a les paul at first glance. VERY different and kind of unique as well if you take a good look in the construction.

      The first year of high school three of us bought those guitars when they were made in Sweden. They were great but never hit the big time. Four years ago I was looking for a 335 type guitar. I an Epic Dot it was bad, the body was like cheap paneling from a game room. Then I played one for their semi hollow body's, just as bad but looked better. I gave up my search until I saw a red 335 type in red. My local shop had one Jay Turner and for a very little money I bet one of the best guitars of my life. I hope never read a bad review on them. No real Jay Tuner, probably just a PO box some place. Yes China but a good one, I have worked with it and had offers for it but it is a real keeper.
