I honestly feel like pitou shouldn’t have died, sure she killed kite, but kite walked into enemy territory knowing enemies would be there. Pitou gained a lot of character development during the show, I don’t even know why people liked kite, he was super boring and have little to no character development at all. Pitou was extremely loyal and didn’t mind dying for the king. Pitou began to became nice and Pitou’s death was for nothing since kite was reborn... Pitou died because gon was too childish to even bring anything into consideration after he killed pitou in cold blood, I bet everyone thought he was a sweet little boy trying to save the world. Honestly pitou didn’t deserve to die, pitou even apologized to gon for what happened. Pitou shouldn’t have died, periodt.

As far as I know, is not that strict. "Boku" is not a masculine pronoun but a more boyish way of saying "I". Some tomboy characters use it as well.
