it's incredible how everything went right in this show. paul did well the note that he always miss, the band was perfectly synchronized and the crowd was just awesome. probably the best live performance of pda
I saw them in an even smaller venue right when this album came out. My ears were ringing for a week…..actually they still are lol and that was 2002-2003ish
All know that Carlos didnt like to play bass but this performance is perfect example how he balances everthing out with his calm class act . True professional.
I love the way Paul sits during the outro. Seem like soothed and in peace with the song. Great outro and one of the greatest debut album. A good lesson in rythm
I would have given anything to have been able to see them live during this time still with Carlos D. They did stop in my hometown of Mexico City that year but I was a teenager and I was broke.
oh wow yeah they toured Mexico a lot if I recall correctly. im lucky enough to say I never saw them without Carlos and still they're the band I've seen live more than any other. well actually they are tied for number one but I've seen them five times.
I've watched this video plenty over the years, but it's June 2019 and I've just noticed how little screen time Carlos got in it. He was pretty much their entire stage show back then.
It's been said about countless bands, but Interpol might really be the most underrated of them all. They are legitimately great. The final two minutes of this tune defines the type of band they are, and everyone should know of them.
It's really effective how he just rambles on the bass the way he does through the outro. Like he's finding the right spot to be for when the drums kick in and then right before they do he hits those two or three notes. Incredible sound.
I feel like I could comment on every Interpol video on CZcams about how much I love Interpol. All I will say is this was an incredible performance. Such an enormous sound.
They played this when I saw them in Albany as their encore, probably around 2007. It was a weird long summer and this was perfect closure. I can die happy having seen this in person.
Uno de mis grupos favoritos de post punk e indie rock! Esta canción, es una obra de arte. Sigo a éste grupo desde el año 2008, 2019 y sigue presente en mi playlist!!! Genial lml
That line isso simple, but yet so fuckin expressive: I also learned on the bass the chords that the guitard plays, but it's not as beautiful as the bass line
If only they could have made the rest of the song as good as that outro...or stretched it out somehow. Or maybe the rest just makes the outro so much rewarding when it does come...but then again, I don't think I've listened to the whole song in years, yet I have listened to the outro hundreds of times. I stand by my initial sentiments

PDA has the best outro I've ever heard in a song
jose donato yeah it such a vibe
agreed
only in dreams by weezer, this is close though
@@shashsrivas you shit
I have to agree it's mega all through for me though mate
That outro gives me chills every time
Best Outro EVER!

I am sure you meant to say, the whole song gives me chills every time.
Love it
that outro holy shit
it's incredible how everything went right in this show. paul did well the note that he always miss, the band was perfectly synchronized and the crowd was just awesome. probably the best live performance of pda
Leonardo Baldessarelli i agree man
8 years later....what note or part was that?
@@tekk2987 I sincerely don't remember :/. and I'm kinda scared about being so much into Interpol back then to the point I knew these kind of details
@@IcoBaldessarelli how are you doing man?
@@IcoBaldessarelli haha don't worry we have all been fanboys at some point of our lives
I don't even smoke but I feel like I need a cigarette after that performance
Shannon S and a tab of acid
Anthony Perez what a recommendation haha
I don’t either but when I see em live I do.
You have to.. its good for u
fuckin SAME
When Daniels voice kicks in the outro it goes up yet another notch
I love love LOVE how Daniel plays, with so much passion, and when Paul smiles during the performances.
He always feels the music like the fans do. Especially that outro
5:42 Paul Banks-descending from the heavens.
Lmao! Love this!
I laugh everytime I see this hahahah
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHA
XD XD ikr
long time no see such a funny comment on CZcams :D
Imagine actually being in the crowd and experiencing this
I saw them in an even smaller venue right when this album came out. My ears were ringing for a week…..actually they still are lol and that was 2002-2003ish
This song's outro paired with the ridiculous sound quality and Paul's cheeky smile gave me such intense goosebumps. Interpol Forever!!
The look on Paul’s face at 5:45 is as if he’s achieved enlightenment. 10,000/10 flawless performance.
No lolis happy cause he don't miss any note and he's synchro with the band
Paul always miss is notes at the end and here he dosent miss any
@@Kain_- so does daniel. i actually don’t think i’ve heard carlos miss a note or sam mess up and i’ve seen many live shows on yt
@@snap_0 ❤
5:49 Paul knows they just fucking nailed this performance
better than sex
Supreme Victory, that is!!
This is what infinity feels like

Well said
I know I'm very late to reply but I like the perks of being a wallflower reference if that's what you were going for. Great book
“there is nothing to say, when there’s nothing to do”.
what a empty verse full of nostalgia…
Bassline on this is so much fun to play as a bassist, especially with a whole band...
I play all the parts by myself with bass and guitar and all are fun as hell
@@powerstudios833 dude i bet. My friend knows the rhythm guitar to it, and it sounds sick
I plug into my PC and jam to this song so fucking loud on a weekly basis and it never gets old lmao
Damn, I still love them these days but classic Interpol makes me feel something that no other music will ever come close to.
Dena if you dont know this song already please listen to "Leave Me Alone" by New Order..it may come close .)
@@regularjohn7123 GREAT SONG but eek I can't even try to compare the two..
All know that Carlos didnt like to play bass but this performance is perfect example how he balances everthing out with his calm class act . True professional.
His bass really defined the raw sound of Interpol. They lost a great deal of their quality when he left. He will be missed!

They said before the show he was sick, that's why he looks so fed up for the whole set.
i really wish daniel sang more for interpol
Never tire of Interpol, and they don’t get tired. Understated epic band, who’ve never sold out.
Paul was happy at the end cause he don't miss any note
It's been said about countless bands, but Interpol might really be the most underrated of them all. They are legitimately great. The final two minutes of this tune defines the type of band they are, and everyone should know of them.
Daniel's solo is so amazing. It brings such awe to my life every time I listen to it.
brandon flowers as your profile picture ? very cool !
The AlphaD Yeah! I love The Killers and Brandon! They're my favorite band. So cool how you noticed, hands away to you
that bass don't get enough love on the outro in a lot of comments. So, this is me giving it love
It's really effective how he just rambles on the bass the way he does through the outro. Like he's finding the right spot to be for when the drums kick in and then right before they do he hits those two or three notes. Incredible sound.
Yeah it sucks the bassist left the band. This album is filled very underrated baseline grooves
The outro to this song has given me goosebumps every time I've ever heard it.
I feel like I could comment on every Interpol video on CZcams about how much I love Interpol. All I will say is this was an incredible performance. Such an enormous sound.
This song is haunting but yet beautiful at thee end.
5:00 Dengler Bass solo
Best outro ever! That bass sound is so good in the heart.
best outro ever!!
Best performance of this song
The synth choir for the outro is so perfect.. Maybe my favorite performance of my favorite Interpol song
All these years later, being older, and still positive that these are the coolest dudes on Earth
the entire bridge section pumps me full of serotonin everytime i hear it
the outro man, the outro.....heaven, it's right here.
2023 and set's still flawless as ever 🤟
The pause, the outro, the beginning, the middle the end, epic!!!
public display of affection.
They played this when I saw them in Albany as their encore, probably around 2007. It was a weird long summer and this was perfect closure. I can die happy having seen this in person.
This has to be the best recorded live performance of this song
This driving, continuous tempo exists in all my favorite Interpol songs. Similar to Roland and Slow Hands.
Seeing the drummer come back to the kit at the end with a stag in his mouth is about the most badass thing ever. Amazing song
This is one of a few bands that restores some faith in me that alternative music is not dead yet, great group of youngsters.
Sam Fogarino is 52, Paul is like 40 lmao
They've been around since 1999 and Defo not in their prime now, this is from 2005
"you're so cute when you're sedated, dear...."
my fave lyrics in the song .... i lover interpol... I LOVE CARLOS >
lykishkeane Carlos went adios
I have always loved this song. EVERYTHING from start to end is flawless! Wish I was there...

De las mejores canciones de los 2000
4:52 Interpol became immortal
in the outro im high
what a great performance
No other kit played by Sam sounds as good as his Yamaha. I’ve never heard such an awesome sound from any of his present day C&C kits or Ludwig.
We have two hundred couches!
I had the pleasure of watched them. it was amazing
Greatest song of all time
Is the drummer smoking a cigarette at 5:54?
Sam Fogarino is the coolest man on Earth
i love sam
Late answer but during the outro, he had time to light one and come back in like that lol 😂 badass
This will go down as their best performance of PDA.
I miss Carlos....
Best band ever to come out in a while this song was a lifestyle 💯🔥🔥
These wanna make me pick the guitar again what a band 🎤🎹🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸❤️
That outro is savage 👌
that bass at 5:38 is so fckin awesome
yep felt the same its like the high peak of orgasms that have reached the botton :O
Ikr!!! And the bits the same as 1:25-1:32
0:00 - 7:19 was my favourite part.
That line isso simple, but yet so fuckin expressive: I also learned on the bass the chords that the guitard plays, but it's not as beautiful as the bass line
it's cause Carlos wrote the bass-lines, now that he's not around, the bass-lines aren't as.. great I suppose, still very good though.
Rock Band Put Me On To A Lot! This Song's Instruments Are Lit!
👍
Prob my favorite Interpol song. I was seventeen when i first heard this song in 02.. still love it.
Amazing song! ! ! Amazing performance! ! !
Que belleza!
I love it❤️❤️❤️
This was amazing. I wish I could have been there
this is so wonderful
Nothing more bad ass then the drummer smoking as they just fucking nailed this song live!
Something to say

Carlos bass elevates the song
My soul is enlightened
I've always liked this song alot. And this band. Good stuff.
now that's a performance
I’d give anything to go back in time to witness this particular performance live, holy fuck
THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!
PDA, is Interpol the best version possible of Joy Division?
Interpol are geniuses, great musicians.
All a new perspective of Music.
Interpol are definitely geniuses, I agree. The ending of this song is straight bliss.
In case i die and nobody knows this is my favourite song❤
Those last two mins...wow!
Maravilhoso melhor banda dos últimos tempos me faz lembrar os anos 80 70 Joy division cure entre outros do gênero muito bom!!!
This is a perfect thing to see if you want to understand why any of us ever started our own band.
Currently my favorite video on the internet
Love the outro!!!
Absolutely amazing performance!!! 😍 And the opening outro drumming solo blew me away!

That is all that I can do
You are a past dinner, the last winner, I'm raking all around me
Until the last drop is behind you
You're so cute when you're frustrated, dear
Well, you're so cute when you're sedated, dear
I'm resting
Sleep tight, grim rite
We have two hundred couches where you can sleep tight, grim rite
We have two hundred couches where you can sleep tight, grim rite
We have two hundred couches where you can sleep tonight
Sleep tonight, sleep tonight
Sleep tonight
You are the only person who's completely certain there's nothing here to be into
That is all that you can do
You are a past sinner, the last winner and everything we've come to
It makes you, you
You cannot safely say while I will be away
That you will not consider sadly
How you helped me to stray
You will not reach me I am
Resenting a position that's fast resentment
And now I can consider now there is this distance so
Sleep tight, grim rite
We have two hundred couches where you can sleep tight, grim rite
We have two hundred couches where you can sleep tight, grim rite
We have two hundred couches where you can sleep tonight
Sleep tonight, sleep tonight
Sleep tonight
Something to say
Something to do
Nothing to say
When there's nothing to do (ah, ah)
These dudes are fucking amazing
i miss that time in music
el final lo es todo!
Probably the best live version
Great song. Great band. Thanks for this treat.
