Pectus Excavatum is the most common thoracic deformity (occurring on 1/400 births) affecting the bones and cartilages of the rib cage and creating a hole on the sternum. Most part of the time, it has no cardiac or pulmonary effect (it can easily be tested) but may lead to social embarrassment and anxiety. In this video you will discover how the 3D custom-made technique works to treat your sunken chest.

This is just a cosmetic bandaid. It doesn't fix posture, rib flare, anterior pelvic tilt, or the thoracic compression to the heart and lungs.

Hi, much more than a bandaid for asymptomatic Pectus (as quoted in the video) : think about people with psychological issues due to the pathology.

I had this surgery done and it looked great but ended up removing the implant because I had so much post surgery nerve pain and my range of motion was so completely limited. I felt so weird as well because I couldn't swim properly and swing around. I have been searching all over the place for others who have had complications with the surgery so I can talk to someone else who has experienced the same things to know I'm not the only one. Please reach out if you have experienced the same things

Hello Jrock, i have had the surgery done almost 1 year ago and i am super happy with the results. I am very sorry you had this experience. I do feel the implant is there, but i have no problems and no pain affiliated with the sensation of the implant being there. when did you do the surgery? the techniques have changed and with everything in the world, it all evolves rapidly. In the first 3-4 months i sometimes had stings in my chest, i guess i would discribe them as nerve pains, but they completely went away. As you might see from my previous comments i would recommend this surgery if your life and psychological mindset are affected. Kind regards to you

@@Steven270183 that's for reaching out. Yeah I had it done 1 year ago in NJ. I wish I had your result. Again mine looked amazing but the nerve pain and uncomfortable feeling of not really even being able to pull myself up on say a pull up bar was just too much. Sucks and I'm back to square one with it out and not only that I'm back to square one with this nerve pain and awkward chest feeling because they were tied together

@@jrock41 Man, i am so sorry because i know how you feel and then doing something about it. When it does not work out for you its devestating.
      To respond to your questions:
i work an office job and i am sitting down for most of the day ( at least 8 hours with the occassional break) and i have 0 issues.
1: you need a doctor that knows what they are doing. its not normal you had to take out your implant!
2: I think the most important thing is that the implant is designed correctly, so you dont have issues just sitting down.
3:Anatomik modelling can only make a correct implant if the procedures are followed in detail.
My entire "procedure" took 2 years, (also because of covid) going back and forth to the medical facility, doing research on what exactly had to be done, go back to the doctor and express my concerns. Pectus excavatum is concidered in a surten sense a psychological issue (that not many people understand), because in most cases it has no health disadvantages.
If you have any further questions about my experience, i will be happy to answer them for you. I have been keeping up with these comments for a reason. It is an important issue for a small % of the population in the world.
      Kind regards

@@Steven270183 I appreciate you man and I'm happy that it worked out for you. For me the problem at the end of the day was not the implant but the insane nerve injury (so we think that's what it so for but no dr has not to figure it out) that's the problem. I elected to take it out because I thought for sure it was the implant but the same pain exists without it in. I would never have known it wasn't the implant unless I took it out. It was damned if I do damned if I don't kind of thing. Therfore the potential option of getting it back in remains but I'm just so distraught over the pain. The surgeon has offered to do 3 rounds of fat transfers once we figure out the source of the pain. I haven't seen any pictures of anyone who have done fat transfers but I keep looking to see results to make a decision

@@crendonio123 I am doing fine! Had to spend 1 day in the hospital. The first week was a bit rough. Getting out of bed was a workout. You feel like you have been hit in the chest really hard, but the pain is very bearable. At no time i felt bad because of pain, daily routines are no problem. Started working again last week.
In the first 2 weeks you have to go to the surgeon every few days to remove fluid build up in your chest. you have to do this 2 - 5 times. (Its normal for this procedure).
I went to the doctor again today and he wasnt able to remove any fluid. My next apointment is in 3 weeks. I am happy with the results so far, but they will keep improving over the next few months! 😃

      Congratulations my friend.
I got the nuss proecedure 8 years ago and had to get the bar taken out early due to infection. The cavity has reappeared since then and I've only recently been told about this 3d implant technique. Waiting for my CT scan and hopefully looking to get the surgery in February 2022.

@@crendonio123 Hey Brian, MAN i'm sorry about the infection!😞I didnt hear about this procedure either when i was first looking to do something about my Pectus. I went to the hospital to get advise in regards to the Nuss procedure. The doctor told me that he only recommended it for children under the age of 18 (i am in my 30's). I was to old and he said my bones are not as flexibel as they used to and that this procedure would be very painfull due to the "severety" of my pectus.
He then recommended me to one of his colleagues that told me about the 3D implant. It's a low intrusion procedure and therefor low risk of infection! I wish you succes on your journey and it would be cool if you would let me know about your experiences after you had the procedure my friend! 👍ndan

Hello, J’ai une petite question à propos de cette opération.
en faite je voulais savoir si c possible de faire de la musculation au niveau du thorax après l’opération, autrement dis est ce que les muscles pectoraux peuvent grossir apres l’operation sans complications?

    • @Anatomikmodeling
      @Anatomikmodeling  Před 2 lety +1

      Bonjour,
