@@GiorgosMalliotakis days in a row I'm thinking I know I've got a big faith my love is my crown. Will be better way Will be better day now It is not a secret. Where's the brilliancy? 😭😭
2018 🇧🇪 how did she not qualify 2019 🇵🇹 underrated king 2021 🇷🇴 should have been top 15 2022 🇦🇱 shouldn’t qualify but best non-qualifier 2023 🇬🇪 aaaah you people killed me with this NQ
For me I don’t think either should have gone through. Tick-Tock is good but for me it’s a little too generic and the performance was a bit too flashy, I see why people think it should have though. As for Eat Your Salad I’m sorry but this was a big old no. It was painful to watch in parts and the lyrics are some of the worst in Eurovision history
The shocking thing about Albania '22 was how bed Ronela's performance was, despite the fact that she is usually super talented and can definitely sing live (like we saw at fik 60). Once you addressed that, the NQ is not shocking at all.
So now let me explain why the fandom should not be mad about that: 🇧🇪 18 - empty stage, no idea for showing this song to Altice Arena 🇵🇹 19 - too strange for the casual viewer 🇭🇷 21 - dull song + playback and Albina using choir for 75% of this song 🇦🇱 22 - just look at the staging... this is soft porn, sorry not sorry 🇮🇸 23 - this song has nothing to offer with this empty stage That's why the fandom should start watching Eurovision, not rating qualifying chances only by the audio lol
Tick Tock by Albina as well as the one from Romania I think that unfortunately got bombarded with technical difficulties were both shocking unqualifiers
Just research Germany 2013 with "La Brass Banda" - it was basically a national outcry. They did the vote in thirds - telephone, online and via Jury The Band made so many votes within the public, the Jury had to vote one point at the end to prevent them from getting to Malmö. That's the point I stopped believing or caring about song contest - bc Germany as founder county always gets a place in the song contest, the television instituts want to avoid spending too much money on artists and avoid winning to not get the event as a hole in their budget. That's of course just some rumor, nobody would admit doing that in public.
If I could tell a fun story real quick: in 2021 when Eurovision was being hosted in my home country, I polled everyone in my class about who they think should win this year. One girl really, REALLY liked Croatia. Her face after I told her after the first semi-final was heart wrenching 😢
2018: was a strong semi and we were losing a good song regardless 2019: Still baffles me Portugal didn't qualify and San Marino, Estonia and Belarus did. 2021: Same as 2018, It was a Strong Semi 2022: Not surprised, Song was poorly performed (Cyprus was my shock qualifier) 2023: Wasn't sure it was qualifying but was hoping it did.
in 2019 introduced new system of weight votes, and it produced very strange results. On Next ESC we got the new president of the show. I dont think it was a coincidence
For me: Greece 2018 - Stunning song, yes the staging was a bit of a letdown but I honestly couldn’t care less. Poland 2019 - Great song with more traditional vibes, and nice to see Poland taking that route, they got really unlucky as well since they technically should have made it to the final. Romania 2021 - Probably the overall weakest group of non-qualifiers in this period (2017 is definitely worse though). This was the biggest standout for me, but her vocals were off quite badly. Cyprus 2022 - Like Poland 2019, great to see Cyprus go down a more ethnic route, the performance was a little lacking but I think it should have gone through regardless because it was one of the most unique songs of the year. Georgia 2023 - Honestly I was devastated when this didn’t qualify, Iru was fantastic live and she deserved to break Georgia’s NQ streak. I definitely see the argument for Iceland and Latvia but Georgia will always be my favourite NQ for 2023.
Croatia 2021 got doomed by mathematics, despite being a qualifier from both the Televoters and Juries (9th and 10th), Croatia still failed to qualify behind 5 points from Norway.
Georgia 2023 was such a surprise for me!
That's what you get when you have televote-only semis!
Yes, imo 50:50 will always be the best system.
@@Valentin_-jc8fn Then nobody complains about not having much of a say :)

Georgia 2023 had me bawling. Iru deserved to go through, her voice was incredible.
But the song was nothing

You are moron right now
You used Georgia Flag( 🇬🇪) for Iceland
🇮🇸 is Island Flag.
🤦🏻♀️
Bro ignored croatia
2023 was Iceland
@@Baztian.1No. Georgia was the "shocking" one
🇵🇹 tens a certeza? Tens mesmo a certeza?
Tic tok should have definitely gone through.
Also Latvia eat your salad should have as well that was so fun!
Yeah both these songs should have gone through

Proud Croatian ❤🇭🇷
Mine was Romania 2021 when Roxen “Amnesia” didn’t qualify. Honestly 2021 was a good year all around so it was hard to say who would qualify.
Portugal 2019 still breaks my heart
Iceland 2023 took me most by surprise.
Portugal 2019 is one of my favorite Eurovision songs of all time, I’m still not over it non-qualification
As a Portuguese, thank you for the Portugal 2019 one. He's amazing, both as an artist and as a person
You have successfully made me interested into Eurovision
💖 Iceland 2023 🥲

These aren’t necessarily my “favs”…just ones the fandom was shocked about when they didn’t advance 🤷🏻♂️

2023 Latvia💔
Georgia 2023 😮😮
A matter of time is one of my all time favourites (and I’m pretty big on esc history so that means around 65 contests worth of songs)
Belgium 2018
Agree with all. They all deserved to be in the final.
Portugal 2019 was something else man, they were my favorite at the time
Finland 2017 was a huge shock for me
Malta 2023 really surprised me, it was so fun and catchy
Tick Tock by Albina as well as the one from Romania I think that unfortunately got bombarded with technical difficulties were both shocking unqualifiers
In 2020 biggest shock was cancelling the contest, I even cried 😢
I miss Switzerland 2017 with Apollo's song
In 2018 it was Greece imo.
for me, san marino 2022 was SUCH A SHOCKER.
Loved that song so much. It's actually my number one in the App. Very messy staging, but that's exactly what the song needed!
i think the song was good, and the staging was also fine. i loved san marino's entry.@@emdove
Sekret is amazing
Rak Bishvilo and Stones were also shocking
Telemoveis not qualifying is criminal.
Still listening to this
Iceland 2023 is crazy!!!! It was such a good song😢
Croatia and Iceland deserved better
Love from Croatia ❤️🇭🇷
San Marino 2022 was really good it should have been added.achille Lauri did a really good job
Diljá!!! I voted for her 19 times!!!!
Still can’t move on from 2021, so many non qualifiers that great!!!!!!

Switzerland 2017&2018 ❤
Apollo❤
Stones ❤
Albina nq is my personal trauma with ESC I swear, it's that thing I think about when I have nothing to do or long wait for something
Yesssss Iceland. They did my girl so dirty. She had the best vocal in whole competition
Im not a hater, but some of them have good visuals, but need help on the vocals
If we say about Sennek, she needs visual more, she sings good
If I could tell a fun story real quick: in 2021 when Eurovision was being hosted in my home country, I polled everyone in my class about who they think should win this year. One girl really, REALLY liked Croatia. Her face after I told her after the first semi-final was heart wrenching 😢
2023 is definitely georgia
Iceland was my favorite 😢
Albania 2022 wasn't a surprise
Portugal 2019 is still my winner of that year. One of my favorite Eurovision songs of all time
2018: was a strong semi and we were losing a good song regardless
2019: Still baffles me Portugal didn't qualify and San Marino, Estonia and Belarus did.

Croatia 2021 was an amazing, but there are too many amazing songs that year. The best year until now in my opinion
Latvia 2023 shocked me when it didn't qualify. I had it in my top 10
Romania 2021, Cyprus 2022, Ireland 2022 and Georgia 2023
Armenia 2019
So true
Latvia 2023 was very surprise for me
Let's be honest - NONE of them were shocking if we compare those entries to Belgium 2006, Malta 2008, Bulgaria 2011 or even Iceland 2016
Apollo Switzerland💀
Apart from Iceland... Yeah I totally get why these didn't qualify
Ngl for 2022 i really love Cyprus and Montenegro but live they May have struggled a bit
