I just learned that the trap works but I put a cover over the trap before transporting the juvenile to a place to release it. The towel opened the door and the little one escaped. I think, if I catch one again, I will find a way to lock the door shut. Any tips?

I caught 7 rats using this cage,its a simple to use cage too.i bait it with a piece of hard bread smeared with peanut butter pushed onto the hook on the bait plate inside the cage.

I find it's difficult to wire on the bait as the trap keeps closing as I'm using one hand only! Any tips?
