5 Gallon Reef Bowl - Full Video!

Here is another full video update of the 5.5 gallon reef bowl. I bought this bowl online as a flower vase intended to turn into a mini pico reef. The first year was an algae filled struggle, but over the years the tiny aquarium has found much balance and success.
There is no filtration! Just a mini heater, and airline running bubbles. I do a 90% water change twice a month. I feed every other day with a ton of food and can never seem to get my nutrients much above zero, but somehow everything thrives. I think that is mainly because I dose live phytoplankton every other day. I believe it is consuming the nutrients in the water column causing low readings, but also feeding the corals with an enriched mix of live phyto species along other meaty foods (Mysis, fish eggs, occasional chopped blood worms, reef roids, benepets).
Next will be a 2 gallon thin vase 6” wide! Wish me luck 🍀 😎
