      @@brendandevoy8178 Became a private school sport. Australia will always be dominant in League because they invest a lot into their grassroots with academy's in high school. Not even NZ have academy's for Rugby Union in high school. There are only so many scholarships that can be given for the less fortunate to attend these private school's but most private school's prefer to give academic scholarships and if they're given for Sports, its Basketball or Soccer related.
      The ones interested in Union within public Schools turn to League because its the only Rugby related Sport eligible to play.
      I've played both League and Union in Queensland and Victoria and you can see the skill level difference. An NZ 1st XV side could beat their premier teams (Club level) but NZ club teams cant keep up fitness wise with the academy's in NSW and QLD. League in Victoria is shocking.

      " his leg was out to balance while he falls". Yup, and if he hadn't put his leg out, Korobete could have run into him while he was still in the air, and flipped him over.
      You can blame the clueless morons at World Rugby for this state of affairs - "Protect the man in the air at all costs" they say, until a player in the air has to protect himself. Then suddenly, the guy in the air is at fault! Idiots one and all.

    • @richardowen5321
      @richardowen5321 Před 2 lety +5

      "his leg was out to balance while he falls" ...agreed. TO anyone who doesn't get this, watch how Barrett has to adjust his body shape as he's jumping. As a result, his feet are coming forward, and his head is going backwards. If he doesn't try to shift his body weight forward a bit, he's going to land on his back or neck. Since he's using his arms to catch the ball, and he needs a leg to land on, sticking a leg out is the only option to save himself.
      It's a really unfortunate outcome, and I'm glad Koroibete is okay, but I don't think there's any malicious intent at all.
