I was a homeschooled kid, my parents moved a lot and they were very religious. It was difficult to make friends, but the library was one of my favorite places to spend time, to learn about different ways to be, and how different people think and feel. Libraries are critical in our communities for so many reasons, but if I leave most of those reasons aside, letting kids discover the world in a safe way, through story, is the most important reason of all.
I want a one hour special of Conan being the crazy person in fairy tales.

I love conan but let's be clear, the people upset with children's books in libraries are NOT upset "dogman likes Bernie Sanders". They're upset because a large portion of adults think it's okay to put graphic depictions of sex and explanations of adult concepts in books meant for children under 10. If you're handwaving these people's concerns because you think they dont like "woke" books you're not helping the situation.
If you're going to ferociously defend these books, at least look into what's in them. Some of it is pretty ridiculous.
As mentioned, those 100 books are out of 30,000 BOOKS!! That's .3% of the entire library. Only way your kids are finding those books is if you deliberately lead them there. Just be a normal parent and supervise your kids.

There is And Tango Makes Three, a picture book about two male penguins who are bonded and take on an unwanted egg. There are so many other books specifically written for 3-5 to teach kids about all the different people in the world.

The problem is very simple. The task of raising children until the age of 18 is with their parents, not their librarians or teachers. The decision about the mental and physical nutrition of children (except in abnormal and extreme cases) has nothing to do with the government and school employees.

Makes sense, religious indoctrination has no place in a secular society, and drag queen story times are completely voluntary in attendance (meaning, no one is forcing you to be there, unlike those who think the Bible should be taught in schools)

Children should not be exposed to sexual material, period. Certainly not material that will confuse their sexuality. The % of children who identify as LGBT+ in coastal Liberal cities is something like 500% above national average - this shows how impressionable kids are. Which we always knew. But if you make it “cool” to be non-straight, that has serious negative consequences.
I get it, there’s a lot of traditions that are outdated. But Liberals have gone way too far. Today, you’re considered a heretic if you don’t support child castration (gender reassignment surgery). You need to take a big step back, a deep breath in, and consider the other side - honestly. The Devil’s Advocate is your best friend - we rely on it in Science. You have to attack your own theories from all angles, and only if it’s still standing do you know youve got something.
