    I think Nelson died at Trafalgar, I don't believe he was present at Waterloo - but I get your point. Christophine was a gift from Mr Cosway to his young second wife (Anntoinette's mom) as a wedding present. . . she wasn't the mom's nurse

    Very interesting. I loved learning about the historical context. I could be mistaken, but I don't think creole is the same as a patois. Just a small detail.

      I’ve got to contradict you here. In the Caribbean, the Natives peoples also mixed with the White population. Others were killed by disease and genocide.

    Being friends didn’t matter when they were arguing. Antoinette went straight to a racial insult. Really? Now when things are hot she remembers being close and doing the same things. Her insanity is built on blurred visions and lies. Hard to sympathize with Antoinette at this point.
