Culture is the warm fuzzy blanket people can wrap their souls in. Language is the cup from which the meaning of life flows. The more words a person understands of a given language, the deeper the meaning of the culture people can enjoy.
Warm hugs to the people of Ukraine.

This is a lovely warm and compasionate comment you make
So beautifully said. Thank you.
I am always blown away by how you have the ability to present your love for your country and fellow Ukranians with such passion. Ukraine should be very proud of you.
this is true and honest nationalism , not the kind of state-nationalism like the Russian ...
@@frankv.2124 It's culturalism when you think about it. If that were a word 🤣❤️
Thanks Anna.
The shawls look very beautiful in any style. That's *living culture.*
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
So beautiful- living culture
Beautiful Anna,
I so look forward to your vlogs each day. Your mix of history, current events, and normal everyday life is fascinating. Your series on Soviet Myths reminds me of many things I learned years ago, and I look forward to each episode. Thank you so much Lovely Lady for all the time and effort you put into each production. You are truly a Ukrainian treasure. Stay very safe Beautiful Anna! Slava Ukraine!
Glory to heroes. And thank you so much for your kind and inspiring words. And of course, for watching.
Hi Anna, You are a warwinner. Putin is trying to demoulish the morale of the Ukranian people and you come with such a great video. My daughter and I watched this and we think it looks very pretty. Maybe the word of the day...pretty or funny? Slava Ukraine!💙💛💙💛
Thank you for the idea. Greetings to your daughter.
I love the idea of sharing more of Ukrainian culture! My family is polish and I can see many similarities between the two- although of course Ukraine is very unique.
You right that the Russians are trying to deny the existence of your culture- but they have tried to do that for centuries and have always failed. They will continue to fail. It’s now time for the rest of the world to see how rich and vibrant Ukrainian culture is!
It's always reassuring to hear from you. I think I'm turning into some kind of a Ukranian fashionista, which probably surprises me more than anybody else, since I'm not a very fashion conscience person! Героям слава. Слава Захисникам. Слава Народу. Слава Україні!! 🌻 🙏
These are beautiful words. Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked it.
I wish lasting peace and safety for all the Ukrainian people on this Christmas season, and a swift victory in the year that comes.
Thank you so much for your wishes. The most important and awaited things here in Ukraine.
Thank you Anna. You make the Ukrainian headwear look very special indeed ! Stay safe. SLAVA UKRAINI !

Anna, thank you for sharing your culture with all of us. Your kerchief are beautiful, as are the various ways in which you wear the kerchief.
Putin wanted to suppress the Ukranian culture, and yet, now people all over the world are being educated about the Ukranian culture, with your videos!! Keep up the good work!!

I always look forward to your daily insight into Ukrainian life. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for watching and being with me
I definitely gonna come to Ukraine and visit and connect to my Ukrainian heritage. My grandparents were immigrants in Canada.
The breadth of your videos range from death and destruction to fashion for personal beautification, and I love it. And on a purely personal note, you are endearing.
A day listening to Anna, is a good day!
Hello Anna! We have the same in Sardinia, but only for covering the head or shoulders, and unfortunately nowadays almost no one uses it anymore. I've never seen it used for tying the hair, it's so pretty! I love finding similarities between cultures, thank you for talking to us about your country. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

@@AnnafromUkraine Heroyam slava.
The clothes don't represent the people. They enhance the people who wear them. As you have demonstrated. By just doing something a little differently. And in comparison Ukrainian women have a much higher fashion sense than ruzzian's do. That filters down into every aspect of life.
And no matter how you wear it Anna you make a proud and beautiful statement of your love of Ukrainian culture. I honestly wish we here in the states would have adopted some of this instead of chasing the next fad.
It's an amazing phenomenon how a style can promote unity and identity.
Thank you for enriching all of us through your depictions of Ukrainian culture. As for which look,. I really enjoyed how with only a simple twist and turn you completely changed styles. And as a man I will admit that those can be pretty attractive.
Another example of how important holding onto our culture really is.
Thank you Anna and Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇦🦝✌️
I feel like I crashed a slumber party. Thanks for the Christmas idea and congratulations to Pres. Zelensky and the Spirit of Ukraine for being awarded Time magazine's Man of the Year. 🇺🇦
Hear,hear....
I loved this video so very much. It's the little things. This is what the internet is for. :)
My grandma and great grandma
arrived in America from the carpathian region wearing these beautiful scarves. I’ve always loved them and must say you look absolutely beautiful in yours just like they did
Love the demonstration of using the scaves. The material and colors are beautiful. That makes you beautiful!
Anna you sure look cute in a kerchief . Thanks for the video. 💙💛
You go Anna! Go Ukraine...
Thank you so much for your
Oh! I don't have an Ukrainian shawl but I do have Portuguese shawls! We wore them pretty much the same as Ukrainian women do, except for the Carpathian style.
In the South of Portugal - where I am from - working peasant women or old women used to cover half their faces, moors style :))))))) There is a Northern African cultural influence in the South of my country.
Thanks Anna. It was a lovely video.
Cheers to you.
Glory to Ukraine.
Just a footnote: The 1st December 1640, Portugal restored its sovereignty which had been usurped by the spaniards. For 40 years my people was ruled by a cruel dynasty of 3 kings filipe's of spain.
Last Thursday, Portugal celebrates its Independence day with a national holiday - the most important one to my Portuguese identity.
I will celebrate Ukraine's Independence Day with same joy and pride. Always.
Ukraine strong! 🇺🇦
And beautiful!
The last one makes you give off a Princess Leia vibe. May the force be with Ukraine!
Your words of wisdom always calm my nerves. Thank you for another upload
Ukraine. Strenght, Beauty and Honour ☺️🇺🇦
I'm second generation Ukr-American. My grandparents and their immigrant friends always called it a "Babushka" (headscarf), which many confuse with "Babushka" (Grandmother). For the headscarf the stress (udarenie) is on the second syllable - ba-BU-shka. For Grandma, the stress is on the first syllable - BA-bu-shka.
I had no idea there were this many ways to display it. Look out, Kardashians! дуже дякую, всього добра.
WOW! You look amazing in those shawls. I had no idea that there’s so much you could do with them. Thanks for sharing. You’re such a wonderful representative of our people and culture. You make me proud to be Ukrainian. I appreciate all you do. Slava Ukraïni! 🇺🇦
Yay! You make it look *so much easier* than some of the videos I've seen, Anna, thank you! This was a fun vlog, and it made me smile plus, I noticed you seemed to be having fun showing us all. That's the spirit!
I can try this now, thanks to you! 🙏
I really like the deep red (burgundy) coloured shawl on you. Though they all are beautiful and with such vibrant coloured flowers. I've seen a few videos of brides being dressed for traditional Ukrainian weddings. It really is quite an art for those special occasions, and so wonderful. As are the wedding traditions. But for everyday headwear, aren't these shawls charming! The smaller type I think we'd call headscarves here in the UK. My mother used to always wear a black lace headscarf for church. It was just a triangle that dad had brought over with him during the war. I heard one story that Ukrainian mothers, back in those days, would give their sons a scarf of theirs, sometimes embroidered ones or squares that were embroidered, to keep with them to see their safe return home from war. Maybe you could enlighten us if this is something you have knowledge of.
I don't have traditional Ukrainian shawls, it's intentional (kind of) as I wanted to choose my own when I visit Ukraine/my family for the first time ever. Hence, Ukraine better win fast - haha! Perhaps I could get one to tide me over for the colder days we are getting here now? (in the minuses this week they say)! Ferrari... just as you said that I was thinking of a lady in an open-top sports car, like the Hollywood movie stars used to.
I did rather like the one where you tucked the second tail-end under your chin and into the opposite side. You do look so elegant in all of those styles, Anna.
Vinók... now there's another interesting thing. My gosh, some of those are incredibly ornate and beautiful. I've seen some amazing photographs of those!
Sorry, long comment, I get excited when it's anything clothing-related. I used to make my own clothes for individuality, and I sometimes 'tweak' my clothes for that same reason. (I used to get called 'quirky' for doing that). 🤭🤗
Stay warm, safe, and well, dear friend, and thank you so much for this vlog... молодець!
Wishing you peaceful skies 💙🕊💛
I will gladly take your wise words on this very colourful matter, AJ...
That was a fun video, great idea!
It was neat to learn about the traditions and history of kerchiefs and national shawls from Ukrainian culture. I really like the bright colors!
It's nice to learn more about Ukrainian traditions and culture. Diakuyu Anna!

There's not a day that goes by that the entire world doesn't think about all of you sweetheart. You are blessed, you are loved by all.
Enjoy the holidays the best you can.
I'm so impressed with your knowledge and passion. You are a true ambassador for Ukraine and it's brave people!
Very much so...

Anna,
I do not know if you are aware that You present the very best of Ukraine. You have passion, intelligence, a clear voice, and beautiful eyes. Stay safe and warm!
Diakuyu Anna for all these demonstrations and traditions. Love Ukraine. 💙💛🇺🇦🙏♥️🌻
And love back to you from Ukraine
Oh my goodness! The thumbnail on right side reminds me so much of my Mom back in the 60s! 😀
Very nice and very beautiful . I like the first 2 darker colored ones , the purple or burgundy . However all Look very pretty . I can't help but think we are going to see a lot of Ukrainian themed movies out of Hollywood . Some writers and producers might be already busy . It has everything , Intrigue romance culture combat patriotism heroes heroines villains , everything .
War is terrible !! But novels are written and movies are made .
Let's hope that the world learns a lasting lesson once this war ends and Ukraine wins it's freedom and sovereignty . 💙🇺🇦💛
Absolutely beautiful. Especially being modelled by Anna 🥰
Thank you so much for watching in your kind words
Shawls and, that one you show is the same as I bought my mum when I visited Ukraine in the past, she loved it
Oh, that is so beautiful
Very stylish! May the Prince of Peace visit Ukraine this Christmas and bring an end to Putin's violence. May Our Lady of Perpetual Help protect all Ukrainians and comfort all who mourn the loss of loved ones.
Thanks Ana. Nice fashion show today. On a side note: Time Magazine has named Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and "the spirit of Ukraine" as its 2022 Person of the Year.
Yes, and I love the cover. Thank you so much.
Thanks for this video! You're amazing, dear Anna. Not only only a great communicator but also a beautiful Ukrainian woman. My oldest granddaughter has Ukrainian ancestors and she is beautiful inside and out. Your vlog brings me so much joy. I am extremely grateful to you.
SLAVA UKRAINI! Eleanor in DC.
Anna, great video showing some Ukrainian National dress in use today.
In the US we don't have a national costume or hats unless you consider the cowboy hat and the base ball cap.😜
I do like your use of national dress to pull Ukrainians tighter together.
You looked beautiful modeling the scarf today.
Keep pulling Ukraine together!
🇺🇦🇺🇸
They all look nice Anna
Beautiful and now I know how my Bubba (?Бубба?) wore her "bubuhska". Tnx. I never saw her put it on.. Then again I was a small child...
I always loved the decent way, you even by normal clothes showed your "eastern identy" (pullovers with nostalgic and nordic applications). This scarf tops it all and there is no way to make you more beautiful, feminine and determined. Your playful character frames it adorably. ❤
Thank you so much. You have described it so beautifully that I smiled.
Very traditional & educational!
Thank you for taking time and enthusiasm to teach us of the Ukrainian National Shawl!!
Very entertaining Anna.
Such a unique country.
God Bless you Ukraine.
6:22 I've seen a few Ukrainian women with their hair tied like that. Seems to be a uniquely Ukrainian style.

Hallo Anna! The last way to wear your kerchief is my favorite! It looks so special and very beautiful 😍! It looks lovely my dear beautiful Anna!
Thank you so much, that was the first time I tried it
All looked beautiful Anna. Thanks you for sharing.
Hi Anna they all look so good on you! Beautiful
Slava Ukraini!
I am not of Ukrainian heritage at all, but I have absolutely fallen in love with Ukrainian traditional clothing. It is truly an art form. I have a huge Pinterest board of old photos of folks - men, women, children, bride and groom, old people, family groups, etc - all in their beautiful traditional garments. So beautiful! I know there are specific traditions in different regions, which makes it all the more rich. // Anna, if you could go more in depth on this topic for a future vlog, I can assure you I would find it very interesting. I am sure others would as well. Thank you for your informative and meaningful videos. 😊🇺🇸
Anna thanks for sharing! My ancestors immigrated from the ukraine and were known for wearing these gorgeous scarves and trading--sharing these beautiful kerchiefs with the indigenous women in United States. Fascinating info in the video. Peace for ukraine
Its awesome to see with how much enthusiasm you show us all the different styles!! 🤗
I admire how strongly Ukrainians try to inherit their traditions to new generations and how you strongly support them. I love the vishyvanka day. This is why nobody braked your culture and language even thought they tried to do it for 100 years now. No Lenin, neither Stalin and nor Putin will destroy your inheritance no matter how many times they tried. I love and celebrate with you on any special days you have. The pink, red shawl suits you better and try to were it more. Keep up the good work and thank u for celebrating with us all your special days. Nothing brakes Ukrainians. Dyakuyu.Molodets and KRUTO😂😂😂😂😂💙💛💙💛💙💛
Thank you, Anna 💛💙💜💙💛
can't stop smiling from admiration of your kind of serving your country, your fellow Ukrainians and your common purpose!
You even managed with a half sentence to troll that reason for your VLOG series that besides that rightfully didn't belong on that level of joy and pride! 13:57 of great distraction - even with that half sentence - or maybe right because of it.
You wish peace and solemn occasions to showcase this identity.
You set a template for all the world about the strongest possible suite of weaponry against those who think there could be something above freedom and peace:
Next to what we all know about the government and the military
- character - authenticity - humble pride and disarming smile.
Can only end well!
Those shawls are gorgeous! I have some silk shawls (not as pretty as yours) and I'm going to try some of these styles. The great thing is that it keeps your head and neck warm with just one piece of fabric. Love it - thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for this comment. I love it if you will try something from these styles.
I'm trying not to love Anna but it is impossible. What a joy to watch!
to @joey55 😏likewise!
Anna is a curious chemistry of body politic, sardonic humour and yet love/warmth.
Always educational! 💚
You are awesome! Your government should hire you as a cultural ambassador. I think Ukraine will need a spokesperson like you help secure international international funding for reconstruction, after your victory. Your positivity and strength are inspirational, and you remind me of how blessed I am when having a bad day. Thank you.
Anna, thanks again for another informative video. Where I live I've never seen what you showed us. At least nothing so beautifully decorated worn in the ways you demonstrated. There are shawls and scarfs but somewhat different. In my church there is a needlework group. They mostly do crocheting and knitting. And they make prayer shawls. The makers pray as they make the shawls. These are gifts mostly for people in hospitals and nursing homes. Those places can be chilly and patients or residents might not be physically very active. I've mostly seen them just worn over the shoulders but also sometimes draped over the head too. These are gifts of love.
I love this Anna. The first scarf really suits your skin tone and lip colour. I love the last style with the bubbles. If you have some small clear elastic bands they will hold the bubbles in place and you can’t see them. You will look beautiful whichever one you wear!
Stunning ! You are an amazing ambassador for Ukraine! I’ll say it again, your channel offers a perspective that no other pro U channels do. Also I love your word of the day vids!!!!!!
I like all the ways you showed. They look good on you.
You have excellent fashion tastes.
Thank you so much

The starting folds are very similar to what we do here in America with bandanas, but clearly you can do so much more with the larger fabric. Right now my bandana is on the table next to me, and I'm staring at it like it's done something wrong, as if maybe it's cheated on me while holding so much back... Or maybe I am going to cheat on it? It's tempting... I guess it just wasn't enough all along, and I had no idea what I was missing. Time now to move on to (literally) bigger and better things. As soon as I get my hands on a real shawl like that I'm going to be the prettiest man in town and no one can stop me, meanwhile all the bandana people can just keep their jealousy. It's all thanks to you!
I love wearing this in the winter and I get compliments! I bought a beautiful black wool kerchief at the Christmas market in Lviv this January ❤️
I have got to say you are so smart and very pretty too. You are an inspiration.
Love the colorful floral patterns, adorning femininity. ~ I find traditional Ukrainian female dress so attractive, and headdresses are so very feminine! ~ Using shawls and playing with styles, comment you made, reminded me of what I noticed early in Putin barbaric WAR: all the women refugees, many carrying or accompanied by small children. And so many of the small children wore the cutest knit hats, if not with imitation ears, then a little ball on either side of the hat, almost like animal ears. The children looked so cute, many of them dressed in large-quilt-like body-suits, though terror-flight from WAR was very sad.
Best Regards from Western America. 💐
I love this video! I especially like the last one. Thank you. Stay safe
Thank you so much for watching. I tried it for the first time.

It is like you are speaking to me. Oh Anna. You brighten my days.
I have to say you look pretty cute in your kerchief Anna!
Anna, this made my day!! When I went home to see my parents and my daughter was 4, my Dad put a kerchief on her head as soon as he saw her. She still has it. She's 22 now. Growing up, it is something we always did. It's symbolic. A rite of passage. Young unmarried women can wear crowns of flowers, but married women cover their heads. I feel that marriage is a rite of passage, not just a fancy party and celebration. When you marry, you are fundamentally changed. I hope this makes sense. ❤️
