Back in the old days we would be driving or hot rods and we would floor it then turn the key off and leave it full throttle for 2 or 3 seconds then turn the key back on the engine would fire that extra gas in the cylinder and blow the muffler off we thought that was cool.
We grew up in the most fun times .....I blew the pipe of my 75 xle cortina right at the manifold about 20 cm of pipe just ceased to exist along with our hearing for ages lol they were the days LOL
did that once for way too long in my '67 datsun pickup, lifted the ass end off the ground.
When we do it, we get the parts water jet cut. Maybe not as much fun but very accurate and quick! Thanks for sharing this.
Very slick you put out some great ideas thanks for sharing!
Saludos 👍
Nice work fella. Now I have to make a muffler just like you did fella. Great job too.
Thanks man, I work at an exhaust shop always wondered how this would be I might try to make something for my IS300 soon. very informative video!
Nice job building it the only change I see is the baffle plate I'd step the overall circle diameter up or oval it to get enough holes in it to equal the area or greater then that of the inlet pipe.
Im made it from the same one and it turned out well🍻
This is really interesting material. I appreciate the effort you put into providing it. Many thanks!
Nicely done! I have built my own mufflers for years. Cheaper than buying them.
Nice job. Looks good.
You need hand shear you know the big handle ones for sheet metal they save consumption of discs and are amazing cutting tool forsheet
Very good.. now a video with the exgsust sound!
@@GPGarage1 : It has been 3 months ago, since this video was made and uploaded, please upload the exhaust sounds, with the car running.
Thank You.
It looks like it's made from some pretty thick material! Only things I'd change are some kind of sound deadening and drill some holes in the last flat plate to line up with the internal baffles so you can plug weld them in place 'cos I bet it buzzes.
Yes, it is a little thicker material than it should be. I'll see what it will be like when I mount it on the car, if I'm not satisfied I'll make another one.
Very impressive.
Beautiful workmanship imagine how much money you have saved a lot of the mass produced exhaust systems are very thin steel i can see your mufflers would last a long time A++++++
Thanks man. This will definitely last a very long time, the only problem is the weight compared to aftermarket exhaust systems.
much better quality than an OEM muffler.
so does the drone come from the design or from the two v plates only being welded on one edge?
I wass really contemplating doing this, my only remark would be the plate with the drilled holes, I would think this is a restriction. If you wanted to do the same concept with the holes, but make sure your flowing the same in as same out same flow out.
Yes, plate with drilled holes is restriction definetly, but I think not to much.
very good. you're homemade, we are factory made.
Congratulations!
Put that on a Chevy 5.7 to listen the awesome sound.
You're a masterpiece man👍🏼😉

I think for Your peugeot the best is straight through muffler.
Something like this.

Hi witch muffler is the best one for b15?
mantab boskuuuh
It's bad ass tho!
It will probably sound like a Flowmaster muffler.
👍👍👍👌

Great job but I would have figured to experiment and make a differnt style muffler instead of a flow master ? ive been doing a lot of research on differnt mufflers and how they flow and Slow master dont flow very well. I have sheets of sheet metal and a welder was thinking of expermenting and making the same case like you did but try differnt internals to see how they sound and flow . I had an idea you might try ? make a muffler like you did but instead of welding that strip of sheet metal down the middle on one side replace it with a sheet of plexiglass . then use a fog machine with flex hose hooked up to the inlet and a small shop vac hose to the outlet and turn vaccum on and then fog machine and watch how the air currents flow though out the muffler
I didn't do much research, the plan was to get a louder sound by replacing the original muffler. this muffler will definitely be an improvement over the original. If I don't get the desired effect, I'll try a different design.
@@GPGarage1 STRAIGHT THREW WITH BUNCH OF HOLES WRAPPED WITH STEEL WOOL
I would appreciate you let me know through you trying different things what worked best I really interested in that thank you
@@shawncordeiro5078 that would be a glasspack, nobody likes glasspacks !! Most terrible sound ever
@@jeremyking5684 Wrapped in steel wool is called a "steel pack." Magnaflow mufflers are glass packs and are quite popular and sound nice but most people think of a glasspack as a round body, 3.5" or 4" with a louver punched core although "Cherry bombs" are straight perforated core and considered glass packs being packed with house insulation rather than good quality high temp needled fiberglass like your higher quality muffler.
Why you put triangle shaped at 6:16 . What does it purpose? To reduce noise ?
😍😍
👍
Begs the question....did you build that because you had to or you wanted to. Nice work by the way
Flowmaster Nachbau😃😃
Very well put together muffler. However this design will not flow well but will be quite.
Thanks. Yes, it's a little bit quieter than straight through muffler, and work perfect with full oem engine.
nice job, can flux core or stick welding be used to weld exhaust pipes?
Only issue is the baffles are only welded on one side that will cause a rattle after time and usually a hissing sound next time mount side caps last

thanks for learning how to made this exhaust,i gotta ask question, which side is exhaust entrance ?? and which side out?
Nice video. what thickness is the stainless steel plate that you weld around the muffler? (the outside plate that welds to the pipe cut in half)
I'm not clear on what purpose the second v shape piece in the middle compartment does. Nice job though. I suppose it could be useful on older cars.
Nice looking muffler, but which end is the inlet and outlet?
Thanks, V shape inside determines the inlet and outlet. It's like this, inlet

Looks a lot like the design of a Flowmaster but I don't remember the baffle and internal pipe layout right off hand. If memory serves there's different layouts depending on which style of muffler. I thought about trying to make Flowmaster style mufflers for a 17 hp Briggs opposed twin cylinder just to see if it changes anything. Need to get a tig welder too.
Thank you, I am not a professional in this, my first priority is to improve the sound of the exhaust and of course no loss of power.

Sorry, which Welder Is needed For this Kind of Jobs? Tig, mig, mag?. And, could it be Made of Common Steel Sheet instead of stainless? Thank you sind great Job!
Thanks. You can use both, tig or mig-mag. Can be made with Common Steel Sheet, will only rust and will last shorter than stainless steel.
Can be noisy cause stainless. Done a few with Stone wool and wire mesh. When it wears out start sing like a Bell.
Baffles will rattle, welded one side.
Maybe drill holes in last flat, plug weld.
Nice try though.
it's a Nissan Sunny 2004 Sentra b15
The only thing I don't like is that you made it restrictive. The section with the small holes is great for breaking up sound waves but you made that area the same diameter of the in and out. So its only going to flow as much as the section with the little holes will allow.
I agree with you, but for daily use car work fine, car sound is nice and deeper sound and it's not too loud.
I wanna hear it
