An all-new action-adventure spectacle, 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” opens exclusively in cinemas 9 May 2024.
Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Jason Reed (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

@@skillexx479 I know it's tying in with the classics, i just think it would've been cooler if they made it an "oh shit!" moment like they did when Caesar said no. When fans of the classics saw the first movie, I'm sure they knew eventually the apes would speak perfect English, but the buildup to the point of them being able to speak was so well done, and made everybody go "Woah what?!". I just think it would've been really cool if they had kept it somewhat of a secret and made a similar move

I dont think its necessary for him to be a descendant of caesar but he might be, his appearance plus the end shot of the opening scene focussing on Cornelius leads me to think he actually is. I just wonder how he would never have heard of him since im sure Maurice's descendants would have stayed close with those of Caesar's, regarding the teachings and all that

Very good question he does look like Caesar with a birthmark on his chest like Caesar meaning he could very well be a descendant of Cornelius and my only disappointment is why give proximus the name he was far from Caesar and noa knew nothing of Caesar which was weird but this will lead to several other parts since the humans don’t think they can coexist with apes after what the virus 🦠 did to mankind.Ps I don’t think Raka died he gives me descendant of Maurice from Caesar’s time

The movie revolves around Caesar legacy:
-Some Apes like Noa and his Eagle Clan
Doesn’t know the existence of Caesar
-Others like Raka, the new Orangutan character and his clan chose to follow in Ceasar’s teachings
-But others like Proximus Caesar chose to corrupt the meaning of Caesar’s words and teachings to enslaved others
The movie respected its predecessors but still gave us something new and fresh with our new protagonists.

Proximus was making me MAD. Dude was twisting Caesar’s words all movie. Made a good villain and built off the previous trilogy really well.

The first movies in a trilogy usually do not have much action. That usually happens in the sequels because the first movies focus on worldbuilding.

Well, everything ended up worse... THAT'S THE DAMN MESSAGE?!!! It doesn't matter who's in charge, it's always going to be the same pit full of excrement?!! "Wow, thank you. What a great story. What a good moral!"... ... ... Is it too much to ask that you write good stories, where the protagonists and antagonists are varied and nuanced, where complex themes are touched on? Or at least try to use damn fiction for something other than sitting for more than an hour wasting attention and neural energy? No, that's a lot of work. Better to tell the same old garbage for 1000 years where everything is a soup kitchen for homeless people where you can "choose" whether to eat paste of one color or another.
What, do you want a movie with absolutely no conflict? "Everything ended up worse" Maybe you're in an alternate universe where in the first films the humans weren't kept in cages!

Could not disagree more. It's a bit slow and not nearly as good as Dawn or War, but still a solid movie.
