The airhead valves are supposed to sound loud, like a sewing machine. The gaps need to be quite big, especially the exhaust valve. Otherwise the valves don't close properly. It's primitive engineering.
Sounds perfect. Ticking evenly like a clock.
I have changed the back suspension like you to őhlins ,as was not broken but original 1993 ❤

I am aware and adjust my own gspd. They don’t slap. Neither do sewing machines. Could be my speakers or his microphone. Just an observation. 😊
