A bonus interview with Roger Taylor about the experience of recording at the legendary HEADLEY GRANGE!! Listen to the library here: • Spitfire Walkthrough -...
@Neil Bonzo and Taylor were good friends. I heard they both partied a lot together and getting "hammered". yes Moon was influencial, but he was not buddies with Taylor like Bonzo was. Taylor always talked very highly of Bonzo, so he was influencial to him as well as moon. Bonzo also was influenced by moon. Moon was first, then came Bonzo, then Taylor when the bands formed.
I first met this great guy in person back in 1974 in a music shop in my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. They were opening for Mott The Hoople at the time. He was with Brian May. We spent about 30 minutes talking, doing little tricks on guitars, etc. Both magnificent, intelligent, gracious gentlemen. I showed Brian a few of our "signature" Memphis things and he shared his sixpence thing with me. He gave me one from his birth year -- 1947. I've got it framed in the music room of my house. Since then I've used silver coins for all sorts of things on electric guitars. Don't try it on an acoustic. It doesn't work! Over the years I ran into them in different clubs, restaurants, or hotels all over the US, the UK, and mainland Europe. Truly marvelous people as well as brilliant musical talents.
I've always thought he is not only a great drummer but a great song writer, musician and vocalist...I've always admired Queen for their talents- which are considerable indeed.
John Bonham’s Famous Recording and Rehearsal Studio, Headley Grange, Headley, Hampshire, UK. About 10 years ago (Circa June 2005) unbeknown to me through an ad in New Musical Express (NME), I got invited to the old workhouse at Headley Grange for an audition as lead vocalist for a well known Queen Tribute Band, unfortunately I didn't make the grade, but what a privilege it was to be singing Queen songs with a complete band at John Bonham's famous recording and rehearsal studi...o who the Rolling Stone Magazine named him "the best drummer of all time" in 2011. Parts of Led Zeppelin's albums Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti were composed and/or recorded at Headley Grange. C/O Neville Bardoli
I love you Rodger always a gentleman you have a gental way of speaking and always a joy to listen to. Love watching you on the drums power that you give to the sound is unreal. 🥁🎶
I'm glad to see this and other clips of Roger. This would not be my best start, as I know relatlively little about the mechanics of recording music for an album and the measurements of drumming, etc. But a good opportunity to get to say something, should Roger read these. I've watched the movie many times. It honors Freddie and introduces all to 'inside of Queen' to an extent (what can be done in just over 2 hours). I'm not an expert on any of the instruments. I've really enjoyed watching Roger play. It's astounding, the # of drum and how fast!! the beats and incredible to have all kinds of things going for a long song is simply outrageous! (in a positive way). Your talent is so marked, defined, a wonder to watch! Just wanted to let you know. I never thought that I'd enjoy watching a drummer do his shtick for more than a minute or so. The movie, although I'm really confused about the timeline compared to CZcams clips, has given me an opportunity to not only see honor given to Freddie Mercury but to see each individual's talent in a newer, closer way and appreciate you more than ever. Thank you for being such a big part of bringing the movie to the public over so many years of work and planning, etc., etc. Blessings and all good things! (I'll be looking at other Roger Taylor clips, too, but this just serves as the statement I felt like making.)
I love Queen so much. Their hardwork for everything. Their ups and downs that make them more stronger. Their different talent and their genius mind. And most of all being a family. They are legend and their songs will live forever❤
Roger is Brilliant . Best drummer in the world . Writes Beautifully . Sings amazing . Gorgeous from birth and still is. Devilish little personality to die for Best friend of Freddie’s . I love him to pieces ❤
Wonderful of course cause I've much to learn about the mechanics of music. Since meeting Queen I'm extremely interested. Thanks for this....Roger, a precious Queen, like the other 3.
It sounds brighter because the genius dark wizard Mr. Jimmy Page slowed the recording down. Simply the most brilliant sound laid to a recording ever conceived.
Jimmy learned the art of slowing or speeding the tape from the Beatles. Even in their early music, shifting the pitch of the tape often would make it hard to impossible for bands to find the key the Beatles were playing in on the finished recording!
I'd like to have Roger Taylor's autograph and Brian May on Brian May I found the address, but I don't have an address on Roger Taylor. I just found an address for Queen Fan Club, but I don't think they have any contact with him. I looked at the achievements and there they had their autograph over the home address, but I can't find.
Yeah I kinda laughed calling myself such a big Queen fan and I never knew Roger had tattoos. But it doesn't surprise me because Roger has such a rebel heart!
People have had tattoos since the beginning of time, people used it to mark social status and many other things. While the meaning has changed, it's still the same feeling and the intention is still there
I have been a Queen fan for 50 years and have a lot of respect for the band but taking Adam Lambert on board was a gross mistake and one that has surely trashed Queen's impressive legacy that Freddie built up over the 21 years that he was around with the band.
I see people of all ages with tattoos. I don't think they are meant to suit you unlike clothes or hairstyles. They are just body drawings. People have tattoos because tbey like them. I haven't got any. Can't afford them with a mortgage. Most of my friends have them. Some of them are very overweight and think nothing of wearing pale coloured leggings with short tops. I think that looks more unsightly than tattoos especially from the back but they don't listen.
Bonham the best rock drummer ever? What a load of bullshit and in terms of speed? Meh just basic beats and heavy foot was the limit of his abilities most overrated drummer ever.
he is not a drumming god...jesus christ god help me now!!! He is lucky to be able to play anything other than a 4/4 beat. Speaking a a drummer mysel; "im fucking better than him"
Robert Smith what are you talking about. Brighton Rock, I’m in love with my car, Millionaire Waltz, Lily of the Valley, Bicycle Race all not in 4/4. Listen to the drums, he makes them sound easy by being great but in reality have a little trickiness to them. Can I hear anything you’ve done before knocking him?
finally he's wearing sunglasses outside
Ikr
Why Roger used to wear sun glasses since he was young please ???
Obio Roger tiene problemas devision desde joven y como no le gusta usar lentes usa gafas oscuras
The guy is a drumming GOD! Not only that but one hell of a vocalist too!!!
+Ka D'Argo Guitar and bass player to.
And a good Songwriter
He was heavily influenced by John Bonham, and he was his friend too

I've always thought he is not only a great drummer but a great song writer, musician and vocalist...I've always admired Queen for their talents- which are considerable indeed.
I’m really worried about that glass of red wine at the edge of his chair and his white trousers.
Right
stuck together with glue 😄
I thought at some point he would grab it and at least take a sip !
I was waiting for it to go flying....
I LOVE Roger Taylor. He is the inspiration that had me start playing drums, and he's been my main role model. God bless him.

Thanks for sharing this it's great to see Roger and listening to him talk about John Bonham two great drummers
He's genius
You wouldn't believe he's in his mid 60's here!
Nick wall yeah! I would’ve thought he was at least in his early 90s!
Money makes miracles ! No ?
Elise Deacon have you ever seen someone in their 90s. No way they would have his hair and skin. Plus someone in their 90s couldn’t drum like he can
@@fartersharter stupid comment 🙄
The most tense glass of wine I’ve ever seen.
I love Queen so much. Their hardwork for everything. Their ups and downs that make them more stronger. Their different talent and their genius mind. And most of all being a family. They are legend and their songs will live forever❤
all that and let's emphasize family. they had each other's backs then and now just amazing.
Love the man, my all time hero Roger was born in my home town!

Richard Bradbury he'd probably laugh his ass off and call him an idiot. like they always did
Roger is Brilliant . Best drummer in the world . Writes Beautifully . Sings amazing . Gorgeous from birth and still is. Devilish little personality to die for

When did he get those tattoos on his right arm?
Cindy Yan He have a lot of tattoos... on the legs too. He got the first one in the late 90s
Please can anybody tell me why Roger Taylor was almost always wearing sun glasses ??? I'd like to know.
Simple: men age most around the eyes.
When did Roger get a tattoo! Can he still get a cheap flake ? Still a ledge. God save Queen
no se que caraj0 esta diciendo pero suena interesante 😎🤙
Id say a life well lived...calling Phil Rudd
Some speak about the glass of wine ,others about the tatoo or the sunglasses ! How about music ? Please stick to the topic
The chair could use some varnishing!
Arm sleeve tats okay
You have a tattoo end have a good time
There is a tied down car somewhere in the house, just saying....

Tattoos influenced by Adam Lambert eh :-)
No, tattoos were made long before he to knows Adam. Roger has and other tattoos.
OK, I didnt know that.
Yeah I kinda laughed calling myself such a big Queen fan and I never knew Roger had tattoos. But it doesn't surprise me because Roger has such a rebel heart!
+Cindy Mauro Are you a rebel having tattoos? You're more like a copycat.
I could never listen to any of his interviews properly...he is too distracting...such a beauty
Please don't tell me that Roger Taylor has got himself tattooed???
He got ink!
Looks immature.
@@bobriedel3277 why?
So disappointed to see all those tattoos on Roger.
WTF, he can do what he want with his body.....or you are his mother?
I liked Roger WAY better without the tats and without the Santa Claus beard.
Vogliamo Freddy Mercury. SENZA DI FREDDY VOI SIETE MOLIO SOLI.
What a shame he has succumbed to the tattooing fad! Nothing looks better than natural skin.
People have had tattoos since the beginning of time, people used it to mark social status and many other things. While the meaning has changed, it's still the same feeling and the intention is still there
Lmao let him do what he wants

Sorry Roger loose the tattoo! It doesn't suit the rest of you !!!!
He seems proud of his tattoo so let him be if it made him happy ang young.
I hate Roger's tatts but unfortunately, you can't "lose" them. They are there for good.
I see people of all ages with tattoos. I don't think they are meant to suit you unlike clothes or hairstyles. They are just body drawings. People have tattoos because tbey like them.
