She is so mature for her age and circumstances have forced her to grow up. She is sensible and kind. The hosts are amazed at her rather than belittling her mother. They do understand the situation and difficulties the mother is facing. I was equally amazed that she is mothering her brothers and mother as well.
Her singing is no joke! She seems like such a lovely and nice girl~ the whole family is very cute, I wish them the best!

I'm very sad to write this but yiwahs mother passed away recently. She suffered from stage 4 liver cancer. I'm so saddened by this news and wish the kids all the best. My heart goes out for the children.

I m really impressed when I was in yihwa s age all I did was studying and that was an enough burden for me seriously this girl is amazing the responsibility she carries made her behave like an adult already big clap for yihwa I watched the episode on tv but I have to come here and write this comment coz yihwa deserves support and encouragement I feel like you ll be a great singer in the future yihwa

The main host girl does seems like implying that the mother is useless... She always compliment the daughter but theres a shade to the mother, she also said a children raising a children. Wth, these hosts doesn't really think befor they speak, they will say whats on their mind. I bet the mother was uncomfortable.
That’s so insensitive, for people who move countries at such an advanced age it’s very hard to learn the language and adjust to society, I still translate stuff to my mother and write for her and she has been in our country now for 20 years. They are privileged to not experience having to be a refugee so they’re being pompous like that.

For those who are wondering about her father; he was murdered in 2014 (I don’t want to get into too much details because it was very tragic).
Htoo Wah was a very famous Karen singer and many adores his singing voice. He has many Karen fans around the world. This is the link of the song which Yihwa (Martha Htoo Wah) dedicate it to her father. I am also from Myanmar 🇲🇲 (Chin) and when I had to move to Australia 🇦🇺 I also had to translate for my mum with things I didn’t understand at the age of 9-10 so I understand very well the hardship of leading ur family at a very young age in a different country. This reminds me of the past bcuz I can totally relate to her stories.

Wanyiwah is a more correct name. But her English stage name is Martha Htoowah. She came from Myanmar, Karen ethnic, but she has a Thai passport, but now lives in Korea. Who can say who she is? I can say that she is a talented singer and is loved not only by many Myanmar people but also by Koreans.

12:27 she didn’t say Unhappy in Thailand, she didn’t mention the country. We don’t have war here, that’s why they escaped from Myanmar to Thailand but they couldn’t make a long-term immigration to stay because we don’t have a refuge policy for them to resettle.
And the mom can speak Thai as her mother-tongue so I think she is from non-poor family background and everyone has a Thai name. She also graduated from the university in Thailand which she had to pay for the tuition fee and visa. The life in Korea would be better for her then she chose to immigrate

Her mother come from Myanmar to Thailand for job and she worked in Bangkok for many years so she can speak Thai very well. As she wanted to go to USA she went to umpiem refugee camp in Thai Myanmar border. Then she met her husband and they lived in the camp for serval years.When her husband was murdered by Thai guard , she decided to resettle to Korea with her children.

Their story is like our family, we are refugees in India and my mom's worked in factory, she went to work at 8:30am and cameback at 8:30pm , i looked after my 4 siblings when my mom's not around, i was just 10 yrs old, i cooked for them, bath them, does all the house chores and take them to Child care and then i went to tution, Life was more difficult and sad after we lost our youngest sister but by the grace of God we are here today, we moved to Australia but missing those hard times because we are poor but we suffer together as a strong family...
