Samar is the 3rd largest island in the Philippines. It is rich in its cultural heritage being the first island to embrace Christianity when Ferdinand Magellan landed on the island of Homonhon. Natives during that time had already their own music and dances. The Waray folks are often stereotyped as brave warriors but with a kind and loving heart. My beloved Samar "tuna nga nataw-an"!
