Good video. This is a good if you use one size, one brand, one type of tumbler. Unfortunately most vendors will change at some point so you need an alternative method. Things to remember, all tumblers regardless of brand may not be the same circumference so it’s important to test the pressure for each tumbler. Not all 20oz units are the same. The very first tumbler should be your test tumbler. Don’t put a full image on it only to waste space. Test in 2” strips around the tumbler pressure/time and temperature multiple times on one tumbler. I can test 4x at least on my test tumbler. Save yourself heartache and $

My settings... with the press not even closed on the tumbler clight gap tho just to where it engages the timer. 365/50 seam at 3 o'clock....turn tumbler to 9 o'clock / 50 secs flip tumbler seam at 6 30 secs.... turn to 12 / 30 secs. works for me.

You do not need a metric ruler because the press is made to "European" standards, you just need something to measure the gap between the fixed and moveable pressure bars.
I use a digital caliper to check that the 2 pressure bars, that the heating element is attached to are square, then you adjust the pressure!

I received my tumbler press and was so excited to use it. I put too much pressure on the tumbler a and to high heat. I can't take the paper off. Thank you for this video. I now have a guide to start by.

So how do you decide is tight enough? That’s what I think my issues may be.

I completely understand how frustrating that is. There are a number of variables including the tumblers you are using. Fade prints indicate too much pressure or too long or too hot.
If you're following the settings for your tumbler check that your press is heating up correctly. Grab a temperature gun and heat the press up as you normally would and then take the temperature of the element. Make sure you document those readings.
That will tell you if the problem is with your press. If the press is heating correctly and evenly then go back to your pressure setting and time settings.
