Dang, she sang circles all around me. She just stands there with little to no effort and tears it up. I wish I could sing like that. She's so gifted. Excellent performance.
I can hear her sing all day, 24/7, and not get sleepy. She's got such an amazing talent.
The Gospel industry welcomes everyone, but not everyone can honor the Legends . I am truly happy for Ledisi and Fantasia that the torch was passed to them. Both these ladies can sang a diversity of music.
To all the naysayers... Ledisi started out in gospel. She lead a gospel song at a gospel concert at her high school. BTW, if any one you all paid attention, she verbs to go to person in gospel for tributes and dedications of gospel artist. Dead and alive. If you get a chance, check her out doing a tribute to the Hawkins... He Grateful! My God! My God!!!!!

Ledisi did a beautiful job on this song! She sang it "Ledisi style". Songs don't "belong" to any one person a talented vocalist can sing ANY Song. The voice is an instrument, so just like a song can be play on an organ, piano, flute or guitar, the voice can be used in the same way. You may not enjoy the style as much as another, but the talent is STILL there. And Ledisi DELIVERS this song TO ME..and I DO receive it--I AM NEXT IN LINE FOR A MIRACLE!

I don't know this song that so many deem as traditional and obviously a part of their Christian upbringing. I LOVE Ledisi. I know her personally, and I can say she is one of the sweetest, most humble, God loving people I have ever met. If you listen closely and with a discerning ear, much of the music on her R&B albums are anthems to God. She is a believer. And even if she wasn't, God can use ANYONE to deliver His message. You so-called "Christians" need to stop alienating people from the church

A few comments down someone said "did they run out if Christians who actually walk this walk?" Excuse me, but there are many PATHS to God and each person's walk is different. You don't know what Ledisi or any other artist walks. It's been "Christian" artist exposed all the time for falling short, but lets have them sing b/c they're "gospel" singers. Have all the seats in the sanctuary if you'd like, but do not judge because that not your place, CHILD OF GOD.

What the hec was going on with that crowd..are they always so freak'n dead..I recently saw Yolanda giving tribute to Donnie SANGing to Stand and OMG..he was the only one in the room standing, tears pouring..(so was I, lol) and I just went wild with Ledisi on this..she is incredible and these people..OMG WHaaat..have they not gone through things..how can you not stand up and just..OMG This was outstanding.

She may not be a gospel artists but if some of those ppl in that room treat her like an outcast she may never be a gospel artists and more importantly totally surrender to Christ and sing 100% for him! but the argument of why a secualr artists gave tribute is understandable!

Why wouldn't a secular artist give a tribute? Just because one does not sing gospel does not mean they're a bad person or don't love Go. Just becaue you sing gospel doesn't mean that you're automatically a good person. I've met rappers who were nicer than some gospel artist! STOP IT!
