I wish I would have tried this earlier.

  • This video is all about a day in the life of my sourdough starter. I shoot it over several days to give you an idea of how I use my discard (yes even to make bread).
I wish I would have tried sourdough earlier than 2021. My starter is going strong 3 years and I have no plans of stopping simply because of how easy it is....
Whatever you use (discard or active starter) simply replace. For example: If the recipe calls for one cup of sourdough starter, you take out one cup of starter and add it to the recipe. Grab your measuring cup and replace 1 cup of starter with equal parts (1 cup) of water and let it activate for a few hours on the counter!
That's it. Put it in the fridge and when you are ready to pull it out to make bread, biscuits, bagels, and it's ready to go.

A couple months back I commented on your sourdough starter and you told me that every time you make it it is one cup each of flour and water. When I mix it up, it’s not a thick pancake batter. So are you actually doing one cup each of flour and water, and if you are, what is the difference between what I am doing and what you are doing because mine is sin it’s not thick pancake batter
