- A protester targeted Former Chancellor George Osborne’s wedding at the weekend, running from the village crowd and throwing orange confetti at the couple as they left the church. Just Stop Oil have said they were not responsible for the incident, though it was similar to protests carried out by the environmental group in the past. Is protesting at a wedding taking it a step too far or just another form of legitimate protest?

This woman wants to draw attention to it and made her points very well despite Ed, who was at the wedding of his friend Osborne attempting to humiliate her. Of course, your natural reaction, being a pathetic little forelock-tugging sycophant is to accuse her of not being grown up - a pitiful although predictable response from someone who no doubt has never addressed anything needing a bit of guts or adult response in his life.

Yeah, he's a braver man than me. I could not have handled that flow of emotionally driven claptrap. Every time I hear one of their spokespeople, its just a tirade of non-facts devoid of logic. They keep screaming about dead people.......who are these folk? maybe someone should tell them they're dead, or about to be! Championing the right to protest a politician's wedding, whom she is no better than when it comes to her inflated ego and self-importance is beyond ironic.

All homes should be insulated, it’s just some homes are so old they have to make sure it’s safe to do so.
Back in the 70’s there was a move where you got a government grant to help towards insulating your home, we lived in a terraced house and as such there were a few oopssies done, one house was getting the insulation pumped into the walls but after 40 minutes they realised something was going wrong🤔🤔 it was being pumped in but was going right into the house next door through a gap in the fireplace right into the front room. It took days for the mess of expanding foam could be removed it had to dry first and then it had to be carved out. After that both homes have to have people in each side so they can block the holes where the foam starts coming trough.
We had to have a wall built between our attic and the next doors attic as it was a fire hazed, there was a wall built only every 4th house so in theory we could enter anyone’s home once up in the attic.

If this is a lie and they were behind it then I guess the reason is because he's regarded as a climate villain. Something to do with some project he cancelled when he was chancellor which if I remember correctly was linked to investing in technology to reduce carbon footprint.

I agree totally. I don’t care who the person is or what they have done in their lives, that one day of getting married is a special day, the next is the birth of your children and if your that way inclined their baptism,
But never get between me and the person who is being buried, where I get to say my final goodbyes, I will run you over and think about that problem another day.
I can still remember the nursing home ringing me telling me that Mom was close to the end and to drop everything, I had just picked up Dad that morning to take him to the dentist we were going to return in the morning, as he had spent every minute he could with her, I was not able to change his appointment that was the only reason why we were not there, it was a 2plus hour drive to where she was but we got there with just half an hour left. If we had missed that moment I would have been out for blood the next day of anyone in the group that’s been holding normal everyday peoples lives as hostage.
Those are moments you can never get back if missed, they are the most sacred moments in our lives.
Oh my, if this would have been my weddin, or my sisters. I’m sure my father would have gotten the glock, and buried them in the fields without a marker or funeral ceremony. How disrespectful do you have to be and live with yourself after destroying a couples wedding.

Well, confetti is hardly an interesting subject so you can excuse the guy a bit he was defending Osbourne, the banker's friend and that was never going to go very well. The woman though knew her stuff and despite some pretty ignorant comments from Ed, who is apparently embarrassed by his performance, gave a pretty impassioned reason why the protest which has garnered a lot of press and public interest wasn't "a step too far". I'm sure the little inconvenience Osbourne had to put up with won't trouble him, his catastrophic and unnecessary austerity program certainly didn't.

My grandad was my pearl of wisdom. He was just so wise, and funny. He used to say “don’t lay with dogs, you’ll get their fleas” and “never interrupt an idiot…let them prove to everyone how stupid they are, and they will” and I understood his little pearls of wisdom. He had many more. I miss him so much. He was not just my grandad, he was my bestie.

Weddings are a beautiful thing, something that lifts this taudry world to a higher place. That's why we stop and admire them. Anyone who wants to destroy that would destroy anything good; they are dangerous people.

When activists are asked to come on the television, it would be approriate to provide someone who has actual facts to support their cause, instead of someone like this woman, who is angry, shrilled, and overly emotional. It's not sad at all. George Osbourne was responsible for one of the most appalling attacks on working people since the Thatcher years. There was no reason for the austerity measures, we were one of the few countries that used such measures and they were exclusively used against ordinary people. Remember it was a reaction to the world bank crash in which we donated 100s of billions of pounds to bail out the banks who escaped with no punishment or financial loss at all. He wasn't concerned about the deaths, homelessness and abject poverty he caused. Having a bit of confetti thrown at him is a little inconvenience for him hardly comparable with what he was prepared to dish out.

the more i listen to these people, the more I understand the failure of the social care system and the failure of our education system. i think the trillions they are asking to be committed to a dubious goal with little to no impact on the global temperature would be better spent on the NHS to support these people to resolve their personal crisis without the need to glue themselves to the road and on the education system to ensure their children are more capable and rational than their parents.
