- Nakai started Rauh-Welt Begriff (Rough World) as a Porsche tuning company in Chiba, Japan. Since then he has partnered with people around the globe to build his creation locally.
The 964 Targa was built in Los Angeles, California. Nakai wanted to create a Targa version as he felt it was very fitting for the environment.
He approaches each build as if they were his cars. As an avid Porsche racing driver and builder Nakai San is always living in the present and wants to continue to evolve his craft with each race and build.
"You should always drive a car that you really love." Amen to that!

I'm normally a car purist, love stock and originality but even I have to tip my hat to Nakaisan from RWB, his cars look amazing. If I had money, I'd definitely love to have him build a car.

All these heroes is what made me want a Porsche. Heroes of the Motoring Industry world such as Magnus Walker and all his classic retromod and restored 911s, Nakai san and his amazing craftsmanship of bodykit for Porsche 964s and 993s and James Dean for racing his 550 Spyder like it's flying.
Heck even badass Mohoroshi who drives the Bosozoku style Lamborghini Diablo SV is my automotive hero for destroying all purist's imagination and modified a Lamborghini to his own style and needs.

This guy is a legend! No one here has half the skills he has.
All the people here criticizing his work because it doesn't fit their idea of what a car should be, please go away. You have no place in tuning. His work is clean, the panel gaps and workmanship are exceptional and the cars are built to look good and function as track monsters. If you don't get that, its fine but don't criticize the fact that he actually builds some very show car worthy machines. Half the rides at SEMA don't look as good as that.
That's the sad thing; some people just don't get it. Modifying cars will always be a way to show our personalities and what we like. People will always have a problem with other's tuning ideas just because it's not in tune with their ideals. Yes, it may not be how you would like a car to be modified, but modifying the car the way Nakai does is his own; to the people who pay for him to modify it & they like it. To those who don't like it, it's more of buy a car that you are able to afford and modify it to your liking. Because in the end of the day, you're just showing your pride and beauty and to those who don't like it, then look at other cars that they like instead.

This is more importantly about finding one's passion in life... and THAT will be overlooked by most people until, unless, someday comes and she/he is faced with what it all was about. To find one's passion is a journey that many successful people have endured. The list is large. The experience is intimate, private, unknown to others, and so vital to having a wonderful life.
He is fully right "You should always drive a car that you really love". Not that junk car which is imposed to you by parents. Of course it's true parents will never buy you a car that you really choice, you would be imposed to something like daewoo matiz + 3 years of free service from local dealership rather than something which have designed, builded by masters who devoted their experience,skills in creating real sports cars which is acclaimed by same enthusiasts.

The one and only rwb-king
Ive now seen 3 of his builds in person. One 911 Targa, one 993 coupe and a 964 coupe converted to a turbo setup. The fact of the matter is that there are two ways of looking at his builds and 1 reality. 1 way is that its his art, you get a somewhat bespoke car as no two are truly the same. The 2nd view is that its a hodgepodge of parts and assembled using screws and sealants you can get at Home Depot. The reality is that its a bit of both, its a rough setup as belied by the brand name. You have to like the roughness, that edge. To me its just a different version of outlaw Porsches or the various versions of rat rods in the American rod builds. If you like one, you should like them all in my view.

I really get the tuning vibe but I don't like what he's done with this 911 targa. However, I have a great respect for his passion and his philosophy, some good old school lessons.
