Tom has a challenging job. Yet, despite the limits and challenges, Tom's made excellent hires as our AD. This 1 was another gem.
Even the Big 12 pod casters are excited about this new coach.
For good reason, he was the highest paid NBA assistant for a reason.

The weird (and frightening) part in all of this is that online almost every Suns fan that I’ve seen talking about the situation is thrilled and rejoicing that he’s leaving… not sure if that’s mostly just negative fans being dramatic and trying to be funny, but it’s slightly worrisome that no one seems to be sad or worried that Young is leaving them…
When will AD Tom Holmoe repent for his knee jerk reaction to the Duke volleyball incident and allow the ROC to return to floor seating at the Smith Fieldhouse?

It’s ironic that BYU’s preferred practice is to hire a member of the LDS faith, presumably for some shared value sets. Yet, the departing coach, an LDS member, didn’t think it was important to say a public thank you on the way out the door. Makes you question whether any LDS coach actually has the character you think he does at all. Big failure by Pope in my opinion (presuming we’re past that thank you window at this point).
It's interesting that you judge a group of people by one individual. What Pope did or didn't do has nothing to do with others. Besides, we aren't privy to private conversations. I get that some might want a public thank you, but why? It doesn't change anything and the school and players are moving forward. Do you think that LDS people all share Mark Pope's value sets? Regardless, we don't know what was happening privately with Coach Pope and his family at this time nor should we. Move on.
But you can attend any ward and find a spectrum of LDS members with varying personalities and ways of acting or reacting. Yes, I look at that as a character flaw, but--certainly including myself--there aren't many of us that are completely free of them. That said, I no longer feel like I owe him my gratitude and should be happy that he's gotten his dream job because of how he left, and I believe we're justified in that as well.

Good heavens, this is such a non issue. Your statement from Mark Pope will come in 5-10 years when he comes back to Utah. For now, Pope coaches Kentucky. That’s it, end of story
