Actually, Contra Force was a predecessor of COD Modern Warfare but just in 8 bit era. Think about it. Intense and brutal gameplay, just one way to complete the level,variable personnel, guns and powerups, non stop action epic original soundtrack. Contra = MW!
Say what you will about the unbalanced gameplay, the soundtrack to this game is aces. A remake of this concept with Konami's nearly 20 years of wisdom gained since could be a beautiful thing.

Contra Force was a completely different game when it was released in japan!!it had a different name and Konami only placed the Contra logo on it in terms to suck kids like us at the time to buy that game!!well standing alone it's not a bad game but it's just not Contra!!!

@Bittergamer1886 I agree. I was expecting a horrible game, but what I got was a pretty neat and different experience. Now I'm not gonna say this game was "Fucking Awesome" but I'm not gonna say it was bad either. 3.5/5
