If Christianity is proven to be true, I would believe that the Christian god is real, but I would not be Christian, as I am not willing to be associated with the God that condoned slavery, human sacrifice, animal sacrifice, infanticide, misogyny and the orchestrated genocide of every living thing on the planet. Ayo I don’t mean to force anything on anyone, but we have various types of evidence for biblical events. If anyone is interested, read on
Brothers, what have we done. look at us. look at what we've become. This isn't right. we're wasting time going on about girls and sus drawings that don't give a f*ck about us. What is the point of lust? Why do we do this? This doesn't fix our problems, doesn't make the stress and pain go away.
repent to God, friends. We must stay focused, brothers, on what really matters. I'm only 17, but I'm telling you, in the words of johnny cash, "sooner or later God will cut you down."
you will lose almost everything important to you. please, for your sakes, repent and turn to Jesus. He is, in the words of Skillet, "better than drugs." He is also better than lust. love > lust. You'll find out that this is true. love may hurt, and same for lust, but lust will keep you chained down, eventually killing you mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and possibly physically.
hell was never meant for us, my fellow youtube user. it was for the devil and his squad, and God gave us the Way out of there since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
God knew we were wack, but He decided He was still come down and help us, despite our unfaithfulness. most relationships (like friendships, romantic relationships) aren't like this. Very few, but not a whole lot.
religion (Christianity) is just a relationship with God along with loving others (see james 1:27)
also, we have various types of evidence that backs up the Bible.
Here's one example: Scientists have discovered that the earth "skipped" a day.
The Bible explains how that happened. In the book of Joshua, Joshua asked the sun to stop so he and the Israelites could defeat their enemies. Then in 2 Kings, King Hezekiah learned he was dying, and pleaded to God to not let him die. God sent a prophet to king hezekiah who said hezekiah would live. Hezekiah wanted a sign, and that would be for the sun to defy the law of inertia and go back 10 degrees. NASA confirmed it and did the math (look it up for more info).
We also found Noah’s Ark hanging out in turkey, along with anchor stones marked with crosses signifying that it’s a revered place, along with altars and many other things. Look it up, it’s good stuff.
more evidence for the Bible concerning cosmology and divine revelation in job 26:7, proverbs 8:27, Isaiah 40:22 (read on)
The idea that the earth was round can be dated back to 600 BC in Greece. It was more widely accepted around the 3rd century (300 BC-201 BC) Note: time was “labeled” differently back then. for example, year 3000, year 420, year 69, year 0, year 1, year 2… and so on.
Job 26:7: “. . .He [God] hangs the earth on nothing” The book of Job was supposedly written at 2100 BC.
Proverbs 8:27: “. . .when He drew a circle on the face of the deep. . .” Proverbs was possibly written between 970 and 686 BC
Isaiah 40:22: “it is He who sits above the circles of the earth. . .” Isaiah was written between 739 and 680 BC.
How did they know about this? You tell me, my fellow Zoomerz.
The Holy Spirit exists. I was a slave to s3xual sin for 7-ish d@mn years. Finally at 16, God freed me. Also, look up John Gabbana's (boonk gang) testimony. Dude did a lot of wacky stuff. He's changed now.
also, the soul exists. someone i know (i won't say who- privacy reasons) saw their soul leaving their body. like pulling off a band-aid, except it doesn't hurt.
I was suicidal for 9-ish months, but then I read John 3:16, and poof- the big sad went away in one night.
There are also non-Christian sources who have confirmed the existence and divinity of Jesus, some of which were hostile towards Christianity, such as:
      Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;
Tacitus (56-120 AD), who called the followers of Christ Christians, confirmed that Jesus was crucified under Pontus Pilate’s command
Talmud (400-700 AD), confirmed that the disciples were martyred for their faith, and confirmed Jesus was executed the day before the Passover, and said Jesus had “magical” powers
Pliny the Younger (61-113 AD), who said that the Christians thought Jesus was/is God in the Flesh (God the Son)
Phlegon (80-140 AD), who said Jesus had the ability to predict the future, and confirmed that Jesus was crucified during Caesar’s reign, confirmed Jesus rose from the dead, and confirmed He showed His wounds to confirm He was crucified.
Celcus (175 AD), who said Jesus was born of a virgin, said His father is a carpenter, and confirmed Jesus had miraculous powers
(See cold-case Christianity for more details)
Here’s the physical evidence of Jesus and His Resurrection:
      1) No persecution would have started if He hadn’t come back (the disciples thought Jesus would never resurrect)
      2) The Roman soldiers would have paid with their lives if they failed at their jobs
      3) there was a 2-4 ton rock that 11-12 guys would have to move (they didn’t have any help. Everyone said “crucify Him”) major L to those opposed to Jesus
      4) there was a Roman seal which was a metal pin that sealed the tomb stone
      5) Stealing the Jesus’s body isn’t something the disciples would do (besides Judas. Although he hung himself after feeling remorse for betraying Jesus).
      6) the disciples wouldn’t die for what they knew would be a lie. (The lie being Jesus never made the ultimate comeback)

The Bible is good in one sense of the word "good", we have a written history of all the horrible atrocities (slavery) humans have committed against each other and hopefully we won't make those same mistakes again because the horrible atrocities will not be forgotten because they are recorded in the Bible.
The Bible is a book of metaphorical fairytales, but the horrible things that humans did to each other seem to be true, if we didn't have a written history of all these horrible things we might repeat the same horrible things all over again.

      @TheFindol Před 4 lety +83

@@SongWhisperer That is an obvious misunderstanding since the bible actually advocates for those horrible atrocities. Therefore your assertion that it is somewhat to be interpreted as a lesson to not repeat those mistakes is obviously wrong, it's the opposite actually.

@@zemorph42 For me, when I was christian, it was not understanding that magic isn't an explanation for anything. My beliefs boiled down to god is magic, so it can do anything. Once I took a logic class, and learned what unfalsifiable meant, it was like an epiphany.
People rely way too much on personal experience, when they don't have the tools to diagnose their experience. I was like that too. I had a pretty bad motorcycle accident when I was 17 and still a gullible moron. While I was in midair, looking at the ground and everything was in slow motion, I heard a voice in my head that said "close your eyes" . I did, and then woke up still rolling on the ground.

Then, everything continued to go according to his plan, which resulted in everyone being drowned, the result of generational incest and then needing some saving for their sins.
Now, to absolve them of their acts he basically pro-programmed them to do, he has to cast himself into mortal flesh, go on a rockband world-tour with his groupies, crucify himself (remember, ultimately it weren't the Romans who crucified Jesus, as they only followed God's plan) to himself, endure a shitty 3-day-weekend and then reunify himself with himself in heaven.

      @darinb.3273 Před 3 lety

@@ummmno3871 Well that CLEARLY explains that you don't understand the difference between OT and NT. As in the purposes of each. The OT was law and history before Christ came to earth and also to explain his purpose to be among the people. Once Jesus came and dwelt with men and was crucified on the cross the OT was history and its laws such as animal sacrifices were no longer upheld as well as stoning children for disobedience and those caught in adultry like the in John 8:1-11 under the old testament she would have been stoned. For your convenience here's the story as told:
      John 8:1-11
1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
11 She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
Why do believers constantly say that's old testament? That's why. Matt also adores saying Jesus was God, at the sametime he was and he wasn't, here's why, Jesus was of God and 100% a perfect representative of God. Before he was born of Mary he was with God along with the Holy Spirit. The term God in the flesh is accurate. Now at the sametime he was not God is because he was in human form (also in God's plan for the perfect sacrifice because he DID NOT EVER SIN). He is still the son of God, that also means he had the authority to do EXACTLY what he did with the woman caught in the very act of adultry. There are NUMEROUS other examples just like that one. In other words the EXACT LETTER of the LAW in the OT was nailed to the cross with Jesus Christ when HE BECAME the sacrifice for man's sin. Matt loves to bash God and the Bible for something in the OT that is no longer law ANYTHING that is still revelant is repeated in the New Testament. NOW the old testament is STRICTLY for learning the way the letter of the law used to be, hence the very name OLD TESTAMENT.

hell was never meant for us, my fellow youtube user. it was for the devil and his squad, and God gave us the Way out of there since we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
      Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;

You seem to be unaware of the fact that the logical conclusion on morality on atheism is that it's a relativistic trick of evolution designed to help get your selfish genes into the next generation. Which makes classifying actions as moral or immoral just as arbitrary depending on who you ask as asking someone what their favourite flavour is of a particular product. Atheists like yourself never the less try to have it both ways on morality here. Embrace moral relativism as being a logically valid description of what morality is, only to then instantaneously switch to moral objectivism in order to be able to criticise the Bible

@@patrickmcardle952 Not so sir, there is no "on atheism". What morality is about, and how to define it, is a separate question from whether there is an invisible dictator watching everyone. Even on your theology you still don't get to an "objective morality" since just bc a powerful being says something is moral that doesn't make it moral. Might-makes-right isn't equivalent to objective. Otherwise Kim Jong Un would be right by fiat due to his absolute power in North Korea. Now, the claim that Yahweh is "good" is just that, a claim, which has not been demonstrated. It's just "for-the-bible-tells-me-so..."
So when those of us who reject your claims to the supernatural talk about morality we are typically talking about the general subject of well-being. We don't care what your alleged invisible non-demonstrable Yahweh character says. In other words, you don't have an objective standard for morality either, even when you claim to. The definition of what morality is about pertains to language, and people use words to mean different things. So when you say you think morality is about what a god says or what a gods 'nature' is, I say "nope, that's not what morality is about."

    • @patrickmcardle952
      @patrickmcardle952 Před 4 lety

Aaron Lietz Your response does absolutely nothing to solve the problem that you are left with when consistently examining what morality actually is from the standpoint of an atheist. It essentially points the finger to say “Yeah, this is a problem we atheists can’t solve logically, but neither can you theists!” as though this is supposed to be some kind of victory claim, which I’ll show why I think is false later on in this reply.
Morality from a consistent atheistic standpoint (as in from the perspective of an atheist that is both courageous and intellectually honest enough to follow the arguments on what morality actually is down to the ground) is a *trick* / *illusion* designed to delude you into thinking that certain acts and behaviours etc. are either moral or immoral that is ingrained within your psyche through the process of evolution by natural selection. The fact of the matter here is that, in accordance with identifying as an atheist, what you may *think* is an innate, intuitive sense of right and wrong is *really* just a mechanism to aid you in your survival and to pass on your DNA to the next generation. This reduces morality to being every bit as arbitrary as the premise that we evolved to have 5 fingers on our hands instead of 3.
This also has extremely troubling and harmful ramifications from the standpoint of the atheist, as this view of what morality actually is logically leads you into the conclusion that saying that rape, murder and torturing children for pleasure are all acts that are immoral rather than moral is every bit as reflective of reality as the premise that chocolate ice cream is superior to vanilla ice cream. That is to say, it isn’t a statement that is reflective of reality in any meaningful sense, given that it is nothing more than an expression of personal taste that can’t have any basis in reality outside of your own imagination.
Believing in the existence of that which is defined as the greatest conceivable being, which is able to actually account for the existence of good and evil for a start (which atheism cannot. See Dawkins in his writings claim that the universe has all the properties we expect if there is no good or evil, just pitiless indifference as a perfect example) that would therefore logically lead to certain acts being necessarily good and necessarily evil, regardless of what anyone may feel about certain acts themselves, which by definition is what it means for morality to be objective. You can object all you want to the manner with which morality is defined on account of a desire to do and say that which is frowned upon from a Christian perspective (making yourself the God of your own life, succumbing to lust through regular porn consumption, being dictated by greed, envy and wrath to benefit yourself and no one else, narcissistically playing God through creating your own morality that falls apart as being any kind of meaningful moral foundation through being entirely subjective/mind dependent and so on).
This doesn’t make that which is good and that which is evil on theism any less accurate or reflective of reality. A reality that atheism arguably forces you to deny through having to look at what seem to be basic features of reality such as a the existence of good and evil as being useful fictions that we are deluding into believing in but which exist in the same way that any fictional concept exists - inside of our own imagination and nowhere else. I’m pretty sure you know too much about reality to deny that good and evil actually exist with a straight face here, which in my view serves to bolster my case against your position.

Why would a supposedly divine being allow that IF his message was so important? Christians literally decided what was the “word of God” and what was to be tossed in the bin.
Hell, they can’t even decide on a biblical canon. Christian bibles range from the 73 books of the Catholic Church canon, the 66 books of the canon of some denominations or the 80 books of the canon of other denominations of the Protestant Church, to the 81 books of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church canon.

      Thallus (52 AD), who said Jesus lived, was crucified, and confirmed the darkness and earthquake that followed Christ’s crucifixion;

I've sometimes been asked the same question and have always given the same answer: "God, you've got a lot of explaining to do." The asker invariably understands, especially when I say, "I don't want to hear excuses".
Lately I've been using the simple concept that reality cannot contradict itself: the Bible says "God is love" but it, and billions of years of 'creation', say "God is a monster". Both concepts cannot be true. Thus the Bible's God contradicts reality and cannot exist. No apologist has been able to give a coherent response (one guy argued that animals don't feel pain, therefore God is not cruel.)
Your caller's evasions are typical of the usual apologist, who is unable and/or unwilling to be honest with himself or others. After all, conceding your point would shatter his world.

In summary: servants are property (just like wife, ox and donkey). Beating them up is okay as long as they don't die immediately or loose their eyes and teeth.
Fathers can even sell their own daughters, while the buyer is protected by a return policy, in case she turns out to be unpleasant.

*Dear Christians, throw the first stone if you think there's any moral value in all this.*

While the above clearly talks about real slavery, just like in American history, a concept like a "bondsman" does actually _also_ exist in the bible (Leviticus 25:39-40). It's what happens when a fellow Israelite becomes indebted to you: he becomes kind of a contractor, not property, working his debts off, while it's explicitely forbidden to profit from him or sell him. The funnier part is the explanation, why his chosen people can't be sold in general: basically because they are already property of God - and ownly the master himself has the right to mistreat them ;-)
*Leviticus 25:42:* _"Since the Israelites are my servants whom I brought out from the land of Egypt, they must not be sold in a slave sale. You must not rule over them harshly, but you must fear your God."_
    Good luck with that!

And if said being is perfect and loving , MAKING RULES for slavery, instead of abolishing it, is wrong! Sounds more like an organised crime boss. So inconclusion, let's just say god is real for 1 second, if god was real and not made up, god should be in prison, technically. Forcing people to worship and follow unethical rules or we'll burn forever in constant pain is threatening behaviour as well as grievous body harm.

In the Epistles Paul says - Be a good slave..... In Matthew Jesus says be a good slave..... therefore God in the New Testament, Jesus thinks Slavery is ok. He said he did not come to change one jot or tittle from the law but to fulfill it. Slavery is part of the LAW. If Christianity is true, then Slavery is moral. I therefore reject the Bible and the biblical gods. If man can "do better than the Bible" the infallible word of GOD, then it is not the infallible and or inspired words of a god, but the fallible thoughts of men." You know Kendall that the Bible was used to justify slavery in the USA and during the civil war was used to justify Southern economic structures based on owning people. If Islam is true would you become a Muslim?

@Paul Goodier And is it ever a problem that there are different versions of the bible? KJB, NIV and so forth? That, even if they have almost the same wording, may put some verses in a slightly different place? I fear that has confused some Christians when I asked them similar topics (unless, that is, they were being deliberately evasive...?)

@@chrissonofpear1384 They are all translations so that is always a problem. Most christians have a cognitive dissonance switch, when the Bible is immoral they do mental gymnastics to justify or ignore it. Doesn't matter the translation, bible is an immoral book.

You don't even have to refer to exodus 21 to prove that God condones slavery. All throughout the Bible God is worship hungry. He demands humans serve him without question or be punished, that in of it self is God condoning slavery.

I just took a few seconds to look up the definition of the word, "bondsman" and it literally said, "serf; slave". Kendall could've saved himself just a little bit of embarrassment if he had just done the same.
