BIGGEST Thing No One Tells You About Moving to LA! // Living in LA UPDATE!

  • The thing no one tells you about when you are moving to LA. I think this is the number 1 untalked topic and that by moving to LA you will still have to live your normal life. I think a lot of times when people move here they think that their life will be like it is in movies and they don’t realize that it’s still a normal place that you have to get up and work to live in. The other thing if you are not used to seeing people of all different races and different people you will be in shock for sure. Not everyone here lives in Beverly hills. People have been living here for generations and generations and you have to get used to the fact that you're a newcomer here.

I've sifted through so many "moving to LA" videos by made by white people to find a brotha that is giving advice to people that look like him, ME. Great video!

Best thing to do when you move to Los Angeles. Make friends with true Natives. That’s really the key to unlocking the city. Stay aware of the transplant circles. It’s like a toxic vacuum. 😉

@Tyler Harris I was in the Air Force from 98-2003. I moved and lived all over the world (From Alaska to South West Asia) and this is why I know what I said is true but also being born and raised in So Cal, I know the people who move here for opportunities mainly stay in the industry cities and the chances of them crossing paths with true natives are fairly slim.

Thank you SO MUCH for offering a down-to-earth/adult perspective on relocating to LA. My husband and I plan to do the same for career changes in the coming months. Honestly, it's been hard to find anyone giving realistic info and expectations. You did that tho!! I'm here for anything else you'd like to share!

Thank you for your honesty. People expect that they are gonna be living like Kardashians out there and all their problems will be solved. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you. Your success in LA is entirely up to your circumstances. No money? You’re screwed. No job? You’re screwed. Unrealistic expectations that you’ll step off the plane and be famous in a week? You’re screwed.
LA is a city just like everywhere else. Crime, stress, politics, homelessness, mental illness, racism, all that stuff is in LA, too.

This is a dope video thank you for sharing info on LA that really represents the demographic and the true LA. I have lived here all my life and I love my city. So much to do here and every neighborhood is like it’s own city and it changes in architecture, people and lifestyle. Thanks for talking about the culture shock and the stereotypical LA that is shown on movies. I’m trying to visit NY soon any places you reccomend ?

don’t waste your time I was someone that lives in northern California between the bay area and the valley and one thing I can’t say I was hell-bent to get down to LA. I will be honest with you. LA was not what I thought it was. It’s a fucking waste of time it’s extremely expensive. It’s a bunch of low-paying jobs. It’s a waste. This is what I tell people if you want money go to the bay area that’s where the money is that there’s no money down here at all completely almost every job in Southern California is extremely low paying wages

I live in Boston and have been planning to relocate to LA for about a year now to build out my podcast and coaching business. I'd like to build my network in LA to help enhance my podcast and get guests on that are in entertainment. I'm interested to hear your opinion on whether it's worth the move to LA for this reason?
