    Well! You can check the carryon which I often do coming home. That’ll be the best test!!

  • @MichailDimDrakomathioulakis

    Thank you, Bo, for this review! Carl Friedrik is a brand I always wanted to try, but for some reason I haven't. I'm not so much interested on their carry-on solutions anymore (as I mentioned in another comment, I recently got a Nova Leather, by Wool & Oak, and I'm planning to stick with it for the time being), but I might buy some of their check-in luggages. Anyway, it's always good to have reviews from people whose opinions I trust!

    Spent too much on my rimowa to betray it ever. Besides that, it’s been the best suitcase I’ve owned and have loved every second of having it

    2:59 Bo I would suggest packable backpack for your daily carry backpack when you arrive.
    I recently got a Matador Refraction backpack and it tremendously improved my travel experience. It's not too big and you can pack it inside your rolling suitcase/larger backpack or even inside your larger sling bag, but at the same time it's large enough to pack larger essentials that can't fit into your sling.
    Anyway, great video, I love your more "vloggy" video format 👍👍👍

      Regarding backpack vs carry on suitcase, I much prefer backpacks these days.
      Carry on suitcase does have 2 major weakness: 1) no matter how light it is, it will still be heavier than your larger travel backpack, 2) you have to "dedicate" one of your hand to carry it around, unlike backpack where you can have hands-free carrying experience.

      Those are some very valid arguments. I am also currently leaning towards a backpack. Thanks for watching and commenting

    For me it really depends on the type of the trip. If it is a business trip (e.g. attending a conference), then I'll probably take a rolling luggage. Often these trips require me to bring some formal attire, and, although there are solutions, a suit in a backpack isn't such a good idea :) If it is just holidays or visiting family, then a backpack might work just perfect. Also, if it is something very short, such as 1 or 2 days trips, then, usually, a backpack is enough.

      By the way, I recently got the Nova, by Oak & Wool (Leather edition). Although I'm very disappointed with their customer service and the way they handled the Nova Kickstarter campaign, I have to admit that it is a really good combination of a duffle and a rolling luggage at the same time, with a smart way for carrying suits (or dresses, for the ladies). I've used it in four different business trips so far, and I think I'll stick to it.

    Definitely try the new roller suitcase! But just make sure the place you're going to is suitable for rolling luggage. It'll be unpleasant if you end up having to deal with bumpy streets or lots of stairs. Also, I checked out Huel because of your videos and bought a pack. It's really great! Thanks for another cool video.
    Also, one question- do you know the brand of your kitchen faucet? I've seen that style and really like it.

      Great tip. I will keep that in mind. My faucet is from Ikea. And happy to hear that you like huel as well

    My favorite suitcase is the July Carryon Trunk case they come in a checked size. I can’t turn back to zipper case after the convenience of a trunk.

    I would say try something new. If you can also bring a small backpack you are familiar with, that would be even better. Your sling could always go into the backpack or rolling luggage for the flight.

      Thanks for the feedback, William. I will keep it in mind and take it into consideration when I will finally decide on the bag that I will be traveling with.

    I would be curious to know what the actual difference in weight would be between plastic and magnesium or aluminum for example. I might be willing to make the tradeoff.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  Před 26 dny +3

      I'm actually eating my words a little bit. As mentioned in the video I went into the unboxing intentionally uninformed. Now having done some review, this version is actually the same weight as the rimowa competing version that is fully made out of aluminum but also costs €1200 (ie probably pretty thin but very high quality aluminum construction). This actually surprised me. I assume most of the weight is due to the aluminum framing. The Carl Friedrik Carry on that does not have the aluminum frame does weigh a kg less than this one.
      So long story short this version is 4,3kg heavy unfortunately. Which is a shame, but tbh I did not perceive it as 4,3kg when I unboxed it

      @WeiFinder Před 26 dny +1

      @@Youknowthebo Wow 4.3kg.. I wonder if anyone makes a full carbon roll luggage 🤔.. And 1200 euro is steep, I'd need a lifetime warranty and a true love for the thing to ever consider it xd
