    I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great czcams.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

    Excellent Video - Same thing happened to unused and well stored Bostitch. Audios Bostitch forever. When the tools not ready and I am, its time for a change. Great video.

    I have 4 HF nail guns. I have the 21 degree framing nail gun, and the little brad fun, and the combo brad.staple gun. I have two of the brad/staple guns as I could not find mine for a while and I really missed it. The first three must be nearing 20 years old. The framing nail gun will not fire the last 2 nails in a strip. It has been like that for a while now. I keep meaning to take it apart, but it does not bug me all that much. The brad nail gun is still going strong as ever and the brad/staple gun has just started to not fire. I took it apart today got all the sawdust and crug out of the track for the plunger and lubed up the piston good and she is shooting like new again. I can not say enough good things about these tools. have ran tens of thousands of fasteners through all of them and they are still going strong. After seeing how this "brand name" unit is built I like mine even more!

      Good to know, I have never had any good luck from HF tools but it seams like they are stepping up there game alittle. I am in the market for a new finish nailer maybe i will pick one up. give it a good test

    Sorry you couldn’t salvage it. Still worth watching. I love my Bostitch but it’ll die someday. When it does, I’ll probably give it away and buy a new one.

    Thank you... Mine is GARBAGE also, same problem. Bet I didnt run a single rack of brads thru it before it failed. I have a cheap set, Framer thru brad from Lowes, was like 150 for all four guns, they work fine... Guess it doesnt pay to buy what you think are quality.... Loved your video. I respect to the point.,. Kev.

      it is a hit and miss anymore with some name brand tools, building them to a price point is killing the quality. Thanks Kev.

    Kids, this is a prime example of what happens when you over charge your reloads. They will blow the firearm up! Oops!! For a moment there I thought I was watching a reloading / firearms channel. This is a woodworking channel. Never mind.... my bad.... ;) Just kidding, Rich...
    Well, you tried to fix it. It wasn't easily fixable, and you have already purchased a bright, shiny new replacement. Thanks for the video. I found it interesting.

    Housing is magnesium, not aluminum on mine. Raised stamp at rear of handle, left side.
    Unlike yours, mine is 5+ years old and only used a few times to replace door casing trim, a half dozen times. Not even a full package of nails used through it yet,

      I believe the older tools are much better, ( built with better cheep parts) I get 2-3 years on a brad nailer before it gets just warn out ( I do use it almost every day)

    Just broke out my new nailer. Same as the one you tore down. About 100 brads in and the driver isn't retracting enough to allow 1.5" brads to feed. Junk.

    I bought my nailer new about 5 yrs ago. Don't have the receipt. It has never worked. Pull the trigger and nothing happens. It seems to want to fire but nothing happens. I took it to the Stanley repair facility twice over the years, they hooked it up and said it worked fine. My other two nailers that came with this set work fine. Any idea on what I should do to get this thing working? Thanks

    • @RichMcNatt
      @RichMcNatt  Před 7 lety

      +james vaughan first I would try air pressure adjustment. If it is a finish nailer all mine run at 110 to 140psi where the Brad Nailers and pin Nailers run at 60 to 80 psi. After that pull it apart and check the piston seals

      I got a Hitachi NT 50AE2 from the Lowe's I dont recall the price, and It is NOT "oil free" but I have been abusing it for a year now with no issues. It also does not like smaller than 5/8" brads but I use pins for that small stuff anyway. Thanks for watching

    just bought two at a pawn shop.
    one a Bostitch 18-gauge
    one a 16-gauge
    both look new
    not scratch on em !!!
    one for $30 the other for $50.
    NEVER used one before so did I get a good deal ?
    and is Bostitch a good nailer ?
    and what psi do you recommend
    thanks Sir.

    • @RichMcNatt
      @RichMcNatt  Před 8 lety

      Sounds like a good deal to me, I have had good luck with the older ones ( over 10 yr ago) the new ones I dont much care for. I run my psi between 90- 120 most of the time. The suggested psi should be stamped on the tool near the air inlet. Good luck and thanks for watching

      I figured $-80.oo for two that must be new was a good deal I got a Campbell hausfeld 20-gal upright compressor for $-130.oo wasn't bad
      (Mine old ones in the garage upside down oil leaking out so I got the CH it'll keep up with demand better)
      Again thanks

    Ok first of all putting oil in the Oil less nailer caused it to fail. The build up of crap on the seal and piston wall caused undo friction as dirt and contaminants built up. Thus causing your issue. Essentially you prematurely ruined the gun. It has a special Orning that doesn’t require oil thus the oil-less design. The new piston is about $14 the piston seal is $2 and the new piston sleeve is $3. All in all a really cheap fix. Don’t put oil in your new gun. 🤔🙈
