The answer is yes. I run the game (PS3 ver.) as part of game club in the high school I work out of. The kids were born in the range of 2006-2010, and they love this game. We have tournaments on Wednesdays.
This game is, still, holding it's own. Glad to see it making a mini-resurgence in 2024.
It's an amazing time yeah. Maybe not the easiest game to get going but a little bit of research gets you going. Glad to see it come back in some form

MvC2 is still one of my favorite games of all time, back in 2009 or 2010 I worked at a Gumby's Pizza downtown on our State Street, and they had an original arcade cabinet of MvC2 and it was only a quarter to play, which I could make last for 20-30 minutes

last year i wanted to learn mvc2 and 3, but then i i got lazy and just stopped. Thanks to this video, im gonna get into it again and feel more motivated to play again. I think this video taught me something that i've been missing, to not take it too serious at first and have some fun. love these types of videos. and would love one for umk3 or mkt. Just like you said, i've played them before too. Especially trilogy on n64. I i've been lowkey thinking about playing it at a higher level
That's amazing I'm glad you are giving it another go! Eventually I would love to do some videos on those too, it's really fun to learn a game from basically scratch. One of these days I'll get my friends into mk and mvc3
Fun way to learn is just play single player on the Dreamcast version. You'll unlock characters over time and so you'll be forced to play around the roster.

i can say with a certainty that you definitely can with the amount of resources that people are providing for mvc2 but for sure getting into a competitive standpoint quickly is just so frustrating nowadays because of the amount of infinites there are lol
this shit is hard to play with pad im thinking of switching to stick just for mvc2
@1edixo it's a bit rough yeah, personally I bought the stick for other games but it was far more comfortable for this too. If possible I recommend
@@FransenYT been labbing mvc2 for like 2 weeks, i can do combos and hypers but man it’s tuff on my joints, doesn’t help that the ps5 controller is trash for fighting games either. Definitely getting a stick, any recommendations for a beginner stick?
@@1edixo well Argentina isn't exactly a good entrypoint but mine is a Mayflash stick, it works wonders
