I know a lot of people don't agree but when Clapton did "Unplugged" he did this version and I love it way more than the original. It is just fantastic!!! Thank you!!!!🎶🎼🎸
I prefer the Unplugged version over the original as well
Eric Clapton is an English rock & blues guitarist, singer & songwriter. He is considered one of the best guitarists in the world & has had a great career in music. He was with many great groups before going solo. The Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos. Eric Clapton has done 2 versions of "Layla" over the years. One faster rock version & this slowed down version. Both are great!
This is like your most favourite ever old piece of clothing - years ago all flashy and new, now old and comfortable and the best thing to put on sometimes ❤️
Eric Clayton’s Unplugged album from 1992 has his best acoustic version of Layla, as far as I know. He did a lot more acoustic lead and his vocals were stronger.
This was a pretty contained performance, but hell he is 24 years farther along in a career going on 50 years at this point. He is an amazing musician and showman.
The EPIC live performance with Clapton, STEVIE WINWOOD, DEREK TRUCKS, DOYLE BRAMHALL etc...doing their old super group's Blind Faith (Winwood authored, Clapton, Ginger Baker..for a hot minute) @ Eric's CROSSROADS 'Guitar Slingers Extravaganza' in Antigua, where his rehab facility is located. It used to be a regular fundraiser that every player wanted an invite to perform at.
The song has been covered by everybody for a good reason. To hear Winwood with his old friend Clapton do it so perfectly is a rare treat. The end of the song seems to be very satisfying for them. A little emo.
Eric Clapton is one of my favorite guitarists, I've been playing guitar since I was a kid and had never heard this version before, thank you so much for showing us this performance.
Legendary song. ❤❤ Love this.
Her name is Pattie Boyd. She was very pretty. I am unaware whether or not she was toying with the lads.
Eric and George stayed friends throughout Pattie's life. Some interviewer should press her on the details of that threesome.
How about when he was with Cream in the 60s..... "Crossroads" would be a good place to start.
Before I saw this, I didn't know that Eric did any acoustic guitar work. This piece takes Layla back to Eric's preferred genre: The Blues. Yay!!
Nice to see someone explored the legend behind the song.
This is Royal Albert Hall, his home gig, he meant what he said!
He does not say that everywhere. I believe this is from one of his yearly visits to Budokan (a music area in Japan). There is an amazing documentry music video about it.
Clapton is god...you gota do the live version of "have you ever loved a woman" ...him and the whole band just murder it
I like your take and yes, Eric was a lost and smitten over Patti as any poor sod like us can ever be.
I'd like to see you did deeper into the blues players that got all those Brits so wound up ( and creative)
Robert Johnson,BB, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray, all those early blues guys were hard working and awesome.
Might be the greatest acoustic guitar song of all time
If you want some incredible Eric Clapton guitar work react to “Eric Clapton Gin house 1999 Yokohama” insanity. The drummer Steve gadd also goes crazy haha
I have seen him in concert so many times over the decades. 😘🇨🇦
Havent seen this video before, i prefer the studio version better. ❤❤❤ still a good one though. Thanks Bizz.
This acoustic version that he did many years after the original is my favorite. It shows more of his guitar virtuoso. Stripped down, this is just a better song.
It's in the way that you use it, Let It Rain, After Midnight, Forever Man, Bad Love
Wood hooo!!!! Great song!
Her name is Patty Boyd
I've always adored the original Lala but I must admit that this version is not only beautiful but so chill. Excellent reaction btw
Nice version which I have listened to many times though my favorite is the original rockin’ version!
I would say this isn’t the version of Layla unplugged you’d want to see. This is from a DVD about his “last” shows in Japan (which is isn’t haha) it’s still great but there’s better. Dr. Steve Gadds brush work is pretty incredible though.
If you want to listen 🎶 to a real tearjerker " Tears in Heaven "
Hey B....may l recommend "Five Long Years" LIVE..by Eric... stunning.
L...E...G...E...N...D...
This is a great song. DA helped with this song.MSAS. SWAMPERS.
Dig this version better. Eric Clapton Enough Said.🪴
Also, all that shit with that woman. Didn't Eric write ?..Bell Bottom Blues...about her? That song is epic. She brought some good music out of those boys. LOL
Accidently put that question mark in after the word write...he wrote it. 🙃
You got it right, that story about the threesome - & im 😆. Complicated & interesting
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wrong version
Go with the electric guitar 🎸 🎸🎸
Please 🙏 🙏 🙏
No....Thank you Eric
Urgh, the shoe shuffle version😞
Enjoy your cynicism Biz. When you say ..he say that everywhere. Matches mine.
I lost a lot of respect for you, while watching this video. I used to think you were an interesting and intelligent person, but after this not so much.
