It is not an arrestable offence to call the police as long as you are not knowingly lying. She believed she had cause, the cops should have informed her that she needs to check the hotel records before they would attend instead of sending two white male officers to check a hotel file. Shameful that the police doesn't have enough to do aside from harassing black individuals.

The continue to harass her after she proves to them she's staying at the hotel and has a room. One that's proven, they need to go away. There's no crime. Write an incident report of you want, but there's still NO CRIME.

With all of the serious issues happening around the world and in the US, with serious (ACTUAL) crimes, calling the police on a hotel guest is a waste of police resources & time. If the dispatcher for the police was doing their job, they wouldn't have even sent the police out there in the first place, unless the dispatcher is a fellow Karen themselves....
Then there's the second part of (this) video (which was a different video & situation) where a man was talking on his cell phone in a lobby and they kick him out of the hotel? WTF is wrong with these people?

Cops walk up, "Do you have a room key?"
Woman shows room key.
Cops: "Thanks. Have a good day" and go away. Tell the manager, "Stop wasting our time."
In a perfect world she would not have been sitting in her car in the parking lot while her kids were swimming in the pool. I have about 20 key cards from different hotels, does that mean I can go and use any of their facilities when ever I want without paying for a room again?

Yea, but in real world it’s a private business so cops have to identify the person and see if she really can stay there when staff claims otherwise. So, it’s not the cops fault but horrible customer service and wasting tax payer money.

The worst thing that happens to some is get tasered from a distance, after multiple pleas (5+ minutes too long) to stop what they’re doing. I guess partly because there's a disproportionate black prisoner population and far too many police officers believe the narrative without question! We get it here in the UK too, police using racial profiling to justify their actions. If you're a black young male in the UK you're something like 8 times more likely to be stopped and searched in the street. A black male is way more likely to be stopped by police if he's driving an expensive car ... the inference being that he could only afford a high end motor by being a drug dealer! In this example we learn that the employee was fired, and rightly so. But we don't know that the attending officers were reprimanded, though I guess they'd argue that they were simply responding to a call out and couldn't know for sure that the woman and her daughter were guests in the hotel simply on the say so of the woman. There were way less offensive ways the employee could have determined the woman was indeed a guest. But no, she's nothing but a racist who thought calling the police would support her presumption the woman and daughter hadn't the right to be in the hotel's pool! Well now she's an unemployed racist, which causes me no sleep loss at all.

As a long time hotelier, I would advise any woman to absolutely refuse to provide her her room number to ANYONE outside other than front desk personnel and while at the front desk. Not to a housekeeper... not to a bellman...not even the hotel GM....and certainly not this crazy lady. The guest offered to show the officers proof of her guest status and they refused. Were I Hilton, I would offer her free stays from this point on. They avoided a major law suit.

In NY a bill is being pushed to pass which would register making false calls to the police on people based on their race, religion, sexuality and sexual orientation a hate crime. So NY hopefully will soon give real world consequences to people who choose to act in such a “boy/girl who cries wolf” sort of manner (i.e criminal charges and jail time depending on the level of aggression and evidence behind it).

ThatOneWeirdGal I agree with you, but you should be aware that under the law, the police can run anyone’s plates for any reason. Many people are never even aware that it’s happening, as they can simply do it from their cruiser without even pulling a driver over. In Massachusetts, it recently got a lot easier to do, because we are required to have plates which can be scanned from a cruiser electronically. Big Brother is watching all of us.

The history with water is that, water is considered luxury, blacks were moved the furthest away from oceans and large bodies of water and moved to inner parts of town. Property value increased and the inner land area Property value was a one point less valuable that land near water. So white people equate water with privilege.

@Sramana Dasyu wrong. The confrontation started in the parking lot where the mother was in her car on the phone and the children were approached by the employee asking where their parent was. The children pointed to the parking lot.
When the employee tried to talk to the mother she refused to get off ther phone or answer questions saying, "call the cops,I don't have to talk to you."
Then officers were called and she started taking video after the officers arrived.

These things have always happened. If you are black, you are expected to carry your "papers" and prove to any white person who confronts you that you have a right to be wherever you happen to be. Running a license plate is nothing. Police run random people’s license plates all the time. But I agree it was not really necessary but the cops didn’t do anything to be fired over.

Standard police procedures and that is what the Karen’s are actually hoping for. They know you didn’t do anything wrong and know you’ll be agitated. What they want is for you to get confrontational w the police hoping the police will react.
