- This is just about as high as the tide gets in St Ives. If there's no wind, like this , there's no problem but if there is the shops and businesses on The Wharf and in front of the old slipway may be damaged or flooded.

Wow. Saw similar on a video from February 2014. Water was all the way up to store fronts. No matter what, those tables out in front of the Sloop withstand anything😊
We've been to St Ives before so can relate.
Jody from Seattle
I remember those high times since the 80's
I've been there many a time it's come up the slip road and great to see
Definitely one for the wellies and looked like a serene day which definitely kept the surging down
Some very cool shots from different vantages
Great post as always
Good job there wasn't a storm at the same time
Oh wow that's some tidal action you got going on there!
Yes, good job it was a calm day. I don't know what the highest tide we've had is but it's probably just over 21 feet, so this one is not for off the max.
A routine event at SI........but combined with very low air pressure, a strong north-easterly wind and a 'ground' sea, it's a different story...but that is a rare combination.
It would be nice if the uploaders of these types of video included in their videos a shot or two of what the normal low and high tides would be, just for comparison for those not familiar with the area.
This was a very high tide, it can only get about 6" higher. Depths are measured in feet against Smeaton's Pier. The lowest is obviously when the tide goes out czcams.com/video/NxWU1PzvAos/video.html with the normal range being 14-17 feet, something like this czcams.com/video/7IIy65-TMOI/video.html
@북극곰 St Ives, Cornwall in England.
Looks like the sea wants to still take parts of Britain
Cool

A day for the wellies!
Or waders!
You can always tell locals to the holiday makers, we have Wellies on. :D
wowww omg 😮!!!
It's very cold water
As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?
Wouldn’t want to be the owner of those vans
Global waroming ._.
