- Sept. 28 eclosure from 5th viable chrysalis within the environs of our 2020 milkweed patch. While some Monarch caterpillars do form their chrysalises (pupation) on a milkweed plant, some migrate as far as 30' away to find some other location to pupate. This location on the fence is about 12' away from our milkweed patch.
