- I purchased a Marble Stackable Salt Cellar a while back and thought it would be a fun project to recreate with wood. It was really simple to do using scrap wood and some basic tools!

Some tools used in this video were provided to me, all opinions are my own. - Jak na to + styl
The only thing this is missing is some drawers
Hmmm. They would be really tiny drawers.... 😂

Druhs.
🤣🤣🤣
just google woodprix instructions :))
Awesome tip Dennis!
Here we.are two years later.....
I'm just now seeing this video.
Honestly, it just popped up on my "CZcams feed"....
So, now you have my wheels turning even more so.
I'm gonna put my own "twist" to this little project.
Instead using for salt, and other herds.
I'm gonna make them for rings and necklace containers....
Thank you!!
Awesome. Have fun!
You are one of the most creative woodworkers I have seen in a long time! Not only do you continue to come up with new designs, you figure out simple consistent ways to bring those designs to life! You have a gift. Don't ever stop.
Thanks for all the kind words billy! I really appreciate it ☺️ Now I have to get back to work! Ha!
What a fantastic job. You would find that a lathe would make your creativity grow exponentially.
Very nice to see a project that’s not being done by every other woodworking channel
Ha. Thanks
That is so smart. I never would have thought to remove the center bit from the whole saw like that. Brilliant!
Thanks! Someone else gave me a great idea to start the cut even without a pilot bit. Use the hole saw on a piece of scrap. Then you can use that as a template for the hole without the center guide!
@@3x3CustomTamar That just gave me an idea actually. Use an odd shaped template and a long router bit to make stackable odd shaped things.
Bill Wheaton sounds really cool!
Well done. I will likely do this myself soon. Thanks!
I love the brass lid
Thanks! It looks really cool irl
Those look great!
Thanks so much!
❤️ I don’t have much in the way of tools, so I get super jazzed when I see DIY videos made with tools that most people would have.
Way to go! These look lovely.
Awesome. So glad you liked it. Thanks!
Awesome Video Tamar! I love how you make projects without having the best tools for the project... no lathe. It shows that when a person uses their head, no project is impossible to build!
Really appreciate that! Nothing bothers me more than someone saying they can’t make something because they don’t have the right tools.....
Yeah, That irritates me too. Have a Great Day Tamar!
drsteevo on it....
@@3x3CustomTamar lol
drsteevo shoot. I had a really good plan for the rocket 😉 thanks!
As soon as I saw this video, I instantly thought about holiday gifts! Your craftswomanship is top notch! Great job!
Thanks so much! Such a quick easy way to make use of your scraps!
Some really clever techniques there.
Thanks ☺️
aight.. i think im finally going to break down a buy that gg rip push block. watching you use it on that router sold it for me
Yeah. It’s a great little tool
Perfect!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for the idea. My wife and i have 5 daughters. I made each of them one of these using this technique for Christmas and used wood from my parent’s property. Hedge apple for the base, then cherry, then ash with cedar lid. Every time the son-in-laws asked “how did you do this without a lathe?”
Did you answer “magic”? Haha! That’s so awesome!
Great quick project. Looks like fun to make.
I needed a quick project after 2 big builds. So satisfying to get a project done I a couple hours. Thanks!
Very clever, nice job. Stackable spice Seller.
You ahead of your game, love people that take a challenge head on with passion.
Thanks! ☺️
you are a smart cookie!
☺️
Great project!!
Thanks so much!
I'm really enjoying your experimentation. "I don't have a specific tool, but let's see if we can work around it" is a great way to get creative!
Thanks! I appreciate that. It’s fun to figure out
I have been a high school woodshop teacher for a long time, but I always learn a new way of doing things from your videos. Keep them coming.
That’s so awesome to hear!
Awesome video. I love how simple you make things and show your process of problem solving. Thanks.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
you never fail to amaze me as to your ingenuity
☺️☺️☺️ that means a lot
Great job with the tools you had available!
Thanks! It’s always fun to figure out a way to make it work!
Good stuff!
Thanks!
This is amazing! I want to make this now. Thank you for this!
You totally should! It feels so good to use scraps! Thanks!
Wow! So cool and I think it looks better than the original. I think I have just enough confidence and skill to try the project. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome. Have fun!
Yes!! I'm definitely going to make some of these! Great idea!
Awesome! Such a good use of scraps! Have fun with them!
Creative project AND use of tools. Nice!
Thanks! It’s fun to figure this stuff out
Fácil y elegante, muchas gracias por compartir tus ideas y proyectos.
Abrazos fuertes
Thanks!
Nice job tamar, thanks for sharing
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Super tolle Idee und leicht ausführbar.
I’m so intrigued with your innovative and improvising ability. I only started following you a couple weeks ago, but have learned so much.
Awesome! That makes me so happy to hear!
Great project and wonderful video. Thanks Beaut!
Thanks!
These are brilliant! Loving your videos/projects!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
bello como siempre!!!!
Thanks!
Nicely done and thanks for a couple of great tricks you used while making them.
Thanks so much! Glad it was informative!
Very cool. Love how that turned out.
Thanks so much! I want to make more of these!
Very well explained and executed .Thanks for sharing. At .38 sec. one could use the Forstner bit and drill the hole , after that keep on drilling with the holesaw. This way you don't have to plug the 1/4" hole, the drill is exactly in the middle.
Very nice! Love your work
Thanks!
I really love how your projects look. Very nice color contrasts
Thanks!
This is so fun. I need to try!
I love how easy it is! And makes good use of scraps! Have fun with it!
Love this. I made one. Took a while. Realized my drill press is total garbage. Took forever to drill out.
My drill press is garbage too. The bit my be the problem. Also the speed. Larger bits. Slower speed
Very nice Tamar!!!
Thanks!!
Wow really good tips thanks.
Thanks! Glad t was informative!
incredible
Thanks ☺️
Nice project. Well done.
Thanks so much!!
Wow. Very nice
Thanks!
Nice build, very inventive
Thanks!
Holy crap you're very talented. This channel deserves so much more subs
Thanks so much! ☺️☺️
Great job! Thank looks awesome.
Thanks so much Scott!
This looks great!! It would make a great holiday gift
Thanks! Agreed!
Smart thinking 👍
Thanks!
Amazing quick project !
Thanks! Sometimes it just so rewarding to get a quick project done
cool idea to make something round without a lathe. looks cool :)
Thanks! Yeah, it’s always a challenge when you don’t have the proper tools. But there’s always a way!
Great work ma'am
Thanks so much!
Cool build. For the future if you wanted less slop you could put some painters tape around the bearing before cutting your rabbet. That way you could sneak up on a nice tight fit if you wanted it.
Thanks! That’s a great tip
Hi Tamar Yep super cool project love it going to make some of these Thanks x
Have fun!
Very cool.
Thanks!
@@3x3CustomTamar welcome

Great project Tamar. Especially with Christmas around the corner.

I understood every other word. So I think the correct response is, thank you!
I am in awe. Do you lay awake at night thinking up these great ideas? I am tempted to try this one.
Hahah. I do. I usually think I’m going to start a project one way. Then i “sleep” on it and think of a better way. Ha. You should totally try it!
Great project, Tamar !
Thanks so much!
Nice one! If you continue with round shapes a center finder might become your best friend... 😉
I keep meaning to make one
So very cool Tamar. Rocking it as always. 👍👍
Thanks so much Ed! I’m totally going to be making more of these
Cool vid!
Thanks!
Really cool project! They look amazing! The "quick change" part of your hole saw was cool too
Thanks! I thought so too. Ha. That’s why I added it.
good job
Thanks!
Beautiful job. It is a pleasure to see you create. Greetings from Argentina.
Thanks!
Thank you for a great Christmas gift. Good video please keep them coming.
Awesome. Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Great project and video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! Thanks for watching!
I'm glad I subscribed to your channel because you explain things very well. So easy to follow. Very concise. Happy I'm here.
So awesome to hear. Thanks so much!
nice build i like it
Thanks!
Very nice
Thanks!
Ótimo trabalho!
Thanks!
Tamar , as always great project !! Love it 😊
Thanks so much!
Just found this gem of a channel, thanks alot for the great ideas, you're awesome and your work is beautiful. Happy new year!
Awesome! So happy to hear. Happy new year!
Great project, inventively executed. Nice work and another wonderful video, Tamar.
Thanks John!
Cool! One idea to make holes easier would be to drill forstner hole first to cut inside and switch to hole saw and cut outer diameter without moving the piece on drill press.
Thanks! Well that might be hard since there is nothing for the pilot bit to bite into to center the hole saw. You can do it like that if you make a template that’s the same diameter as the hole saw and place it on the wood to guide it
What ingenuity Tamar!! Thanks for the great tips and such a great project!😊👊
Thanks so much! I love making use of my scraps
There’s definitely a sense of achievement when making something from scraps!😁
Awesome job great gifts idea. And very nicely done with a tutorial easy to follow. Take Care
Thanks! Appreciate that!
Looks way better than the original!
Thanks! I appreciate that!
I really like your channel. I feel like you put effort into both video production and ideas for projects and it really shows. Great videos!! Keep up the awesome work!!
I really appreciate that! Thanks so much!
Great project! I've been making some band saw boxes with larger off cuts. But I have some nice smaller off cuts, and think this would be ideal to make some small boxes for gifts.
Thanks! Use all the scraps!!
👍👍good
Thanks
You know I had not even thought about making something like this, but you e definitely given me some inspiration. Of course I have a lathe, so it might be a bit easier, but you made it look so easy anyway!
It was easy! Took me a couple hours. But a lathe would be a lot quicker and probably more fun. Ha. Let me know how it goes!
You should be able to hog out the inside of the containers before you finish cutting the outside with the hole saw - it would make it much easier to hold the pieces while cutting the interior holes.
Jolie réalisation ingénieuse bravo salut Jeannot 🛠😉
Thanks so much! ☺️
Great idea and without a lathe yeah
Thanks so much!
@@3x3CustomTamar you should add it to the "bowl without a lathe challenge" two entries are better than one, Keith would love it I'm sure😀
Another nice option for the lid instead of the brass would be colored acrylic or plexiglass which is much easier to cut on the bandsaw.
That would be a cool option!
Nice and quick project. Maybe great item to sell at christmas market.
Totally agree! Thanks so much!
That’s so smart the way you find out how to make things with the tools you have. You always find a way. That’s inspiring! BTW, it turned out awesome :-)
Thanks so much! There’s always a way!
Great job. Very creative way to use what you have in your shop. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much! I do wish I had a lathe though...
Some of us don't even have a shop. We work with what we have and I think it helps with keeping the creative juices flowing when with the lack of a spacial tools or even a space to work with .
Nelson Alvarez agreed! And it’s the moment when you figure out a work around that makes it all worth it
This is a really cool project. Someone with a lathe and CNC could go as far as adding thread.
Thanks that would be cool
I'm enjoying your Channel, very good exellent ideas
Awesome. Glad you like it!
That's thinking out of the box! Some great tips there. I don't have a lathe either, so anything that allows you to make rounds with a different tool is helpful. Ha. Never thought about taking the drill out of the hole saw after starting it. I'll be using that one in the future. Amazing how sometimes the simplest things elude you.
Awesome. So glad it was helpful. Someone on Instagram gave me an awesome tip for making the rounds without any pilot bit..... he first used the hole saw on a piece of plywood. Then he used that outer circle of that plywood as the guide for the hole saw without the pilot bit. Think that’s pretty genius.
@@3x3CustomTamar That is genius. It's the little things. I recently was cutting off multiple slices from a piece, and wanted a way to get them all to the same size. Although there are numerous ways to do this, lets just say this particular setup was a little out of the ordinary. I tried to find a clamp that would fit on the front of the table saw to hold the stop block. Every clamp I had just wouldn't quite work. So, after sitting there looking at it for a while I finally hit on CA glue. Glued the stop block to the table with a couple drops and bingo-bango it worked perfectly. Small tap with a mallet when done and it popped right off.
Don T it’s so satisfying when you find a way that works!
